John Simm was born on July 10, 1970, in Leeds, England. He is the eldest of three children. He grew up in areas including Blackpool, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, and Manchester in North West England. Ronald, like his father, was a musician, and John began singing and playing the guitar at the age of twelve.
