Following news of on-screen love and the death of her best friend Kirstie Alley, Explosion takes a deep dive into the woman Travolta lost to the disease.
Alley played Travolta’s on-screen wife in “Look Who’s Talking” (1989), “Look Who’s Talking Too” (1990), and “Look Who’s Talking Now” (1993).
Alley died after a short battle with “newly discovered” colon cancer. His two children announced the heartbreaking news on social media on Monday, December 5.

“To all our friends, far and wide around the world… We are saddened to inform you that our extraordinary, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, recently discovered,” the message read. “Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her undying joy to create, is unmatched and gone. We are inspired to live life to the fullest as he did,” the letter continued. “We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
Alley and Travolta’s on-screen chemistry is truly out of this world, and it’s reportedly almost a reality, according to Alley herself.
During a 2018 stint on “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” the actress revealed she almost eloped with Travolta.
He paid special attention to the “Grease” heartthrob.
“I think I kissed Travolta,” she confessed. “I almost ran away and married John. I loved him, I still love him.”

However, he was married at the time which prevented him from pursuing a more intimate relationship with her.
“If I’m not married, I’ll go and marry him and I’ll be on a plane because he has his own plane,” she said.
He paid tribute to Alley on Monday writing, “Kirstie is one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will meet again.”
This year, Travolta lost another on-screen love, Olivia Newton-John.
The two starred opposite each other in the 1978 smash hit, “Grease.” He plays Danny Zucko while ONJ plays Sandy Olsson.
