JoJo Siwa stands by her decision to call Cameron Candace Bure out and is ready to defend her values using whatever means necessary.

“I’m being honest and maybe a little disruptive in someone’s life, but that’s what I believe.”

The 19-year-old, who has risen to become an LGBTQ+ activist since becoming a member of the community in 2021, revealed that what the “Full House” alum said was unacceptable. “That’s what was said. You don’t like gay marriage, do your thing girl. You who are religious, do your thing girl,” said Siwa.
He then lamented, “Of course, I want everyone to do what they want to do. But to exclude someone on purpose because of someone they love, that’s sh—y.” The issue affected the talented choreographer so much that he mentioned the possibility of speaking with Bure was very low.
“We haven’t [talked], and I don’t think we will do it again,” said Siwa. However, it is one thing to never say never for the teenager who believes there is still redemption for the “Christmas Under Wraps” star.
While speaking to People magazine, the “Boomerang” singer shared that she wanted Bure to take up GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis’ offer to “come chat.” Sharing his thoughts, Siwa said, “That’s what I want Candace to do. I want him to talk to GLAAD. Because even though I’m educated, GLAAD is an incredible organization. Sarah is a genius when it comes to the gay community.”
The young YouTuber believes that the 46-year-old talking to GLAAD’s Sarah will be an “eye-opener”, not only for Bure but the whole world.

The saga between Siwa and Bure arose for a second time when “The View” alum, in a conversation with The Wall Street Journal, talked about his plans to keep “traditional marriage at the core” as chief creative officer for America’s Big Family Network (GAF).
Shiva, upon hearing the news, took to his social media to hold Bure accountable. Alongside a headline that read, “Candace Cameron Bure Plans For New Cable Channel: Not Gay,” the outraged activist wrote, “I honestly can’t believe after everything that’s happened the past few months, that she wouldn’t just make a movie with the intention to exclude LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press.”
The “Kid In a Candy Store” singer also branded Bure’s statement as “rude and hurtful” to the community. However, like many of these divisive topics, Shiva did not get full praise from his 11.6 million followers. As The Blast reported, some fans branded him a “bad boy” who liked to play the role of victim.
This angry fan wrote, “Not that deep, but he can do what he wants! The gay community wants a lot of respect but no respect for other people’s views or opinions! Always offended by something like the gay community is more accepted now than ever than cartoons, shows, music, equal rights marriages like wtf else u want like get over it the whole world is not gay so stop trying to force everyone to be a part of it or promote it!”
Despite the backlash, Siwa, in her interview, revealed that she also received overwhelming support — with stars like Jodie Sweetin, Maren Morris, and Maddie Ziegler supporting her.
Speaking of Sweetin’s encouragement, the young star said, “Having Jodie Sweetin agree with what I’m saying and that means a lot because she’s a really good, good human being who’s doing good for the world.”
Siwa also shared that using her voice to stand up for her values, no matter how it might look, feels like a “really cool position” to be in.
