Jonathan Ke Quan was born on August 20, 1971, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. When the Army of the Republic of Vietnam was defeated at the Fall of Saigon, he was forced to leave his homeland. His family was later granted political asylum and immigrated to the United States. The identity of his parents is still unknown. He started his career as a child actor when he was just 12 years old.
