Jonathan Knight Admits He’s Tied the Knot

In an interview with ETLauren Zima to promote her reality series, “Farmhouse Fixer,” the New Kids on the Block cast member revealed that she has secretly tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Haley Rodriguez.

Talk initially focused on the singer’s under-renovation farmhouse, which will be featured in the upcoming reality show sequel. But when Knight refers to Rodriguez as “her husband” as he talks about renovating their own farmhouse, Zima quickly questions Knight’s marital status.

Knight tried to dodge the question at first, saying, “we might or we might not [gotten married,]” with a gleeful laugh. Zima asked again about the ring on her finger, which finally made the singer reveal that she ended up walking down the aisle with Rodriguez.

In a previous interview on “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” Knight revealed why it took them so long to get engaged. He shared that the two had apparently been waiting to see who would pop the question between them before he decided to do so while they were on vacation in Africa in 2016.

“We were in Africa, our parents were there — our mom was there — and I just thought it was time to pop the question and make it official,” Knight shared about the moment he asked Rodriguez to marry him, per Page Six.

“We’re on the Zambezi River – right above Victoria Falls,” he continued. “We took a raft dinner at night, just the four of us on the river, there were like hippos in the background. It was a super moon. It was really beautiful, it was very romantic.”

Elsewhere in an interview with ET, Knight talked about signing on with HGTV to produce his “Farmhouse Fixer” show. Although he revealed that starring in his own series was exciting, he admitted that it took a while for things to go through with the cast.

“I’ve been trying to get a show on TV for years, and actually, HGTV told me we weren’t going to do the celebrity thing, and I was like, ‘Oh.’ And then a few years later, things changed, and they were like, ‘Yeah, this is perfect,’ so it was great,” he said.

“It’s my passion, fixing up houses,” he added. “I’ll post on Instagram pictures of projects I’m doing, and fans will always ask me, ‘What’s your job besides New Kid?’ and I think it’s really cool to be able to showcase what I do and people can watch.”

Jonathan Knight Would Rather Renovate House Than Perform Live

When asked to choose between performing live on stage and the moment he showed off his converted farmhouse, Knight said that, although the choice was difficult, he preferred the latter.

He reminisced about the years of going on stage to please the crowd and the intense adrenaline rush that came with it. But she admits that watching the farmhouse owners enter their newly renovated home brings more intense emotions, noting that she often cries at such moments.

In the latest season of the show, Knight will renovate eight homes, including some of his own properties. The reality series returns to the small screen on August 24 and will air on HGTV every Wednesday at 9pm ET.

Knight continues to tour with New Kids On The Block despite being busy with Farmhouse Fixer. In addition, he plans to have an official wedding ceremony because the restrictions of Covid-19 prevented him from having a wedding ceremony before.
