Day five of Jonathan Majors’ trial continues with cross-examination of the actor’s ex-girlfriend and accuser, Grace Jabbari, who took the stand Tuesday to testify against the Marvel star.
Jabbari, during Day 4’s testimony, accused the actor of having a temper tantrum and abusing her early in their relationship. She claims Majors called her a “monster” and made her feel like she had to “walk on eggshells” in front of him.
In the latest hearing, Jabbari was asked about his time in hospital, what it was like when the police arrived at the scene, and how the media coverage of the case had affected him.
He began his testimony by emphasizing that the actor “knew what he was doing” to him and that he contacted him after the alleged attack to get “closure”. Jabbari also claimed that he did not involve the police initially because Majors was a “black man.”

Taking the stand on Wednesday for a second day of testimony, an visibly emotional Jabbari lashed out at Majors, claiming that he knew what he had done to him.
“He knew what he was doing: He cheated on me, he attacked me,” she told jurors, referring to the night when Majors allegedly assaulted her in the car by pulling her fingers, twisting her arms behind her back and punching her in the face multiple times.
He claimed that on the morning after the alleged assault, he called Majors in an attempt to get some closure. “I think I’ve made a very clear decision in my mind that this is not a good relationship,” Jabbari said, as reported by People magazine.
According to Jabbari, who has returned to their home, he feels he does not want to see the actor again, but knows that as adults, they “have to talk” about it. The dancer revealed that she ended up falling asleep while thinking about packing out of the penthouse she had moved into with Majors, feeling “so tired” and overwhelmed.
Jabbari told jurors he locked the door before falling asleep because he “knew the defendant” and “to feel safe, I needed everything locked.”

Jabbari then wakes up surrounded by emergency personnel called by Majors after trying to get into a locked room. Jabbari recounted how he was worried about leaking information about the event because of Majors, who was in the next room.
“I offended him in the safest way I felt possible,” Jabbari claimed, “I just wanted to say help me, please.” The dancer, a white woman, later stated that she chose not to report Majors’ past violent acts because she knew he “didn’t trust the police as a black man, and [she] don’t want to put him in that position.”
Following his brief questioning that day, emergency personnel photographed his injuries, admitted him to the hospital, and shortly thereafter, Majors was arrested.
Speaking about her fear of him, Jabbari said, “I still love her, it’s very confusing and I don’t want her to get into trouble.”

During Jabbari’s cross-examination, he detailed how he found out about Majors’ arrest. The Marvel star was arrested in March for allegedly assaulting Jabbari during a car crash. Afterward, Majors was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment.
Jabbari, tearfully, claimed in court that he found out about Majors’ arrest while in hospital where he allegedly got a splint on his right finger. The professional dancer said she was saddened by Majors’ arrest and felt she should have lied to protect him.
She told the jury, “I feel so bad, I feel like it’s my fault,” adding, “I feel like I should have lied so he wouldn’t get in trouble.”

Months after Major’s headline-grabbing arrest, which has affected his career, the actor filed a counter-complaint, claiming that he was the real victim of Jabbari’s attack on that fateful night. This led to his ex-girlfriend’s arrest in October, but she was not charged in the case, which has now been sealed.
During his testimony Wednesday, Jabbari emphasized that he is a very private person and that Majors’ trial has brought unwanted attention and pressure on him to share details of the event with family members.
“It’s a lot of unwanted attention on a very difficult part of my life. I had to tell my friends and family everything and that was very difficult,” Jabbari told the jury, according to the report. She added, “It feels like the abuse I’ve been through isn’t over yet.”

Jonathan Majors Told To Comply With Temporary Restraining Order

The presiding judge, Judge Michael Gaffey, reminded Majors during Wednesday’s hearing to continue to respect the temporary restraining order granted to Jabbari in April following his alleged assault on his former lover.
“Yes, Your Honor,” Majors said in a response to Judge Gaffey regarding the TRO. The judge then stated, “I know you will comply as you did for [entirety] to there.”
Majors’ lawyers have since argued his innocence in court, claiming during their opening statements on Monday that the actor was the victim of a vengeful ex-girlfriend who wanted to slander him for alleged infidelity in their relationship.
