Josh Duhamel talks about his lifestyle and how it contributed to the collapse of his marriage to Fergie.
The former couple split in September 2017 following eight years of marriage. Of course, their shared property – son Axl – remains the main focus for the two, although the actor has returned to his North Dakota roots.

In reflecting on their Hollywood-centered relationship, returning to her childhood home played a key role in rediscovering that sense of normalcy.
The 50-year-old sat down with Graham Bensinger and talked about the stressful breakup.
During their candid conversation, the “Life as We Know It” star revealed that part of the reason behind their split was that the lavish Hollywood lifestyle didn’t sit well with her. It led to their natural split as she says in her own words, “I think we kind of grew out of each other and had very different interests.”

The “All My Children” actor, now expecting a child with his new wife Audra Mari, revealed, “I don’t think I ever felt comfortable with it all. It’s just a lot. I just miss the simplicity of who I really am, you know?”
Hailing from Minot, North Dakota, he further explained why the high life wasn’t for him, stating, “I’m not a guy who’s comfortable going to the red carpet. Doing all the Hollywood stuff. I don’t hate it, I’m better now than I was before, but it took me a long time to really feel like I belonged, like I fit in.”
He insists that living in North Dakota gave him a sanctuary to reconnect with his roots and rediscover the simple joy and passion that initially drew him to nature and the outdoors while being creative.
The father-of-one, once again, sounded a note of caution about the potentially soul-sapping nature of the Hollywood lifestyle: “You know Hollywood and LA and that whole lifestyle can suck your soul if you’re not careful. ”
Additionally, Duhamel highlights how their shared experiences of childhood divorce influenced their harmonious approach to co-parenting. Fans will recall that in 2019, the couple reached an agreement for joint custody of their 10-year-old son.
Notably, neither party is responsible for child support payments because, as outlined in their divorce settlement, obtained by The Blast, both parents can comfortably provide for Axl independently.
According to the document, “Both parties are able to support the child. Child support agreed upon by the Parties is under the guidelines. The parties have made the declarations required by (law) for the Court to approve their determination of child support under the guideline formula.”
In other words, they split the cost of everything.
It also indicates that the court decided not to issue a formal child support order, leaving open the possibility of revising this decision. The “Battle Creek” star and the Black Eyed Peas singer collectively ruled that “the Court’s jurisdiction to award spousal support or award support to either Petitioner or Respondent is terminated.”
They also privately resolve issues such as “child custody and support, spousal support, division of community property and connection of separate property.”

The 48-year-old star showed she is the epitome of elegance as she happily acknowledged the good news about the addition of another family member. It was noted that the “London Bridge” singer commented warmly on Mari’s post sharing the exciting news.

Fergie’s comments were similar to what she wrote when the parents-to-be announced their engagement in January 2022. At the time, the “Safe Haven” star celebrated the queen’s 28th birthday with a surprise proposal consisting of a bottle with a note that read, “Audra Diane Mari, will you marry me?”
The post was captioned, “It’s on!! He finds a message in a bottle washed ashore and says YES!! @audramari,” the newly engaged couldn’t hide their joy. Aside from the congratulations from thousands of well-wishers, the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” artist joined in with an enthusiastic, “Congratulations!!!” along with the green heart emoji.
