Josh Gad Visits ‘Frozen’-Themed Land Coming Soon To Disney Parks

Fans of the record-breaking 2013 movie, “Frozen,” will soon be able to step into the world of Arendelle when the new Arendelle: World of Frozen section opens at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Arendelle: World of Frozen was first announced on November 22, 2016, when The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government announced their plans for a multi-year expansion. Former Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke of his excitement for the land when the company first announced it, saying: “Guests will soon be able to visit the kingdom of Arendelle with all its sights, sounds, cuisine and traditions.”

The upcoming “Frozen” themed land will offer Guests an amazing atmosphere, unique and fun attractions, and may even allow Guests to meet some favorite characters from the record-breaking movie such as Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff.

Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf in the “Frozen” franchise, recently visited Walt Disney Imaginering and got a glimpse of the soon-to-be “Frozen” themed land.

“Wonderful morning with @waltdisneyimagineering cooking up something very special in Hong Kong,” Gad wrote alongside a photo of himself and a handful of Disney Imagineers. “#FrozenLand will surprise you. ?”

Fans can’t wait to see the new land when it opens this year as many comments like “Thanks for sharing” and “Awesome!”

Currently, the exact date is yet to be announced, however, at D23 last year, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro announced that the new land will open in 2023.

Rides Are Coming To Arendelle: World of Frozen

As previously announced, Guests visiting Arendelle: World of Frozen will not be able to see certain elements from the Disney animated film, but they will also have the opportunity to ride unique attractions, such as the Sliding Sleighs Wandering Oaken roller coaster — a ride that will take Guests in journey through Arendelle after they visit Oaken’s famous shop.

Guests will also be able to experience a similar version of EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After attraction, located at Walt Disney World in Florida, which takes fans through the “Frozen” story. The Disney Parks Blog previously reported, “Guests will have the opportunity to step into the world of Arendelle like never before and interact with amazing life-scale Audio-Animatronics figures of our beloved “Frozen” characters as they embark on a whimsical journey. . Really It was amazing to work with Walt Disney Animation Studios to make sure that every detail of these characters – like the costumes and performances – felt like they came right out of the movie.”

Disney also shared a video of the new audio-animatronic Elsa, which they say takes technology to a “new level”.

“When you see Elsa perform her signature song “Let It Go,” her facial expressions and body movements will bring her to life like never before,” Disney said.

Speaking about the new land, Michel Den Dulk, Executive Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering, said, “In these happy times, peace and prosperity have returned to the kingdom of Arendelle, guests are invited from near and far to take part in this joyful celebration on a Summer Snow Day.”
