Actor Jude Law considers “Star Wars” as one of the reasons why he decided to become an actor.
After appearing in other successful franchises, such as “Harry Potter” and “Sherlock Holmes,” the 50-year-old actor will now appear in Disney+’s live-action series “Skeleton Crew.”

Both Jude Law and “Skeleton Crew” co-creator Chris Ford sat down with Entertainment Weekly on their Dagobah Dispatch podcast to talk about the new show. “The Holiday” actress, in particular, opened up about her background with a galaxy far, far away.
“Probably the reason I started acting was running around the playground pretending to be Luke or Han or Chewbacca or Vader – that’s actually what I played and acted as a kid,” he said. “And being in it is both kind of surreal and seems very secondary in some ways. And then also a little bit out of the body.
He said that “Star Wars” was “a part of my childhood like going to school,” adding, “As far back as I can remember, I remember having Star Wars in my life. It was a toy that I played with, it was a toy that I was jealous of my friends. I remember one of them had an AT-AT walker and I would never be given an AT-AT, so I would go over to his house and play at his house so I could use the AT-AT walker .”
Will Jude Law Play a Jedi in ‘Skeleton Crew’?

Unfortunately, little is known about Law’s character so far. Although the trailer shown at Star Wars Celebration London showed the audience directly that his character can use the Force, he refused to confirm or deny the speculation that he will play a Jedi.
“I can’t tell you much about my character,” he said. “He was someone the children met when they were trying to get home. He was like many of the worlds they experienced: opposites, and sometimes a place of nurturing and sometimes a place of menace.
The show stars four child actors: Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Co-creator Jon Watts has described the show as “a story about a group of kids, about 10 years old, from a small planet who accidentally get lost in the Star Wars galaxy. And it’s the story of their journey trying to find their way home.”
Law said the story is told “through their eyes,” adding, “At times there’s a kind of silliness and a silly relationship between the kids and the adults. And other times it’s really quite dark and quite scary, which I think is what the world looks like to most 11-year-olds.”
Chris Ford Wants ‘Skeleton Crew’ To Be Enjoyed By ‘Star Wars’ Fans Of All Ages

Although the show stars four young actors, Chris Ford hopes the story will be enjoyed by “Star Wars” fans of all ages. Ford reminded Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy that she wanted to go for “that Amblin tone.”
“When we told Kathy Kennedy that we wanted to use that Amblin tone, which she had perfected over the years, all she would say was that they never thought of it as a children’s movie,” he says. “It happens to be about children, the story of a child who goes on an adventure. So it can be for anyone.”
“The tone of Skeleton Crew is adventure,” he continued. “We want it to be really fun. But of course, along with adventure comes its downside, namely danger. And when children are in danger, it is more full. So we play with that, but overall we want it to just be a fun adventure.”
