Judge Judy Sheindlin has given her verdict on the 2024 presidential race — and she finds Nikki Haley in favor.
The celebrity judge praised Haley’s intelligence and performance as South Carolina governor and US ambassador to the United Nations in a statement announcing his support ahead of next week’s Iowa caucuses.
“I am honored to support Nikki Haley because she is smart, has executive credentials and is a great governor,” Sheindlin, 81, said.
“He has international gravitas as an ambassador to the United Nations. He is principled, measured, and has that elusive quality of true common sense. I truly think he can restore America and believe he is the future of this great country.”
Sheindlin hopes her endorsement will be more successful this time than during the 2020 election cycle, when she supported former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg – who famously spent hundreds of millions of dollars to pick up a handful of Democratic delegates.

“Judge Judy is a no-nonsense woman who has earned the respect of millions of Americans from her courtroom by being tactful, fair and honest. I’m honored to have his support,” Haley, 51, said.
Sheindlin, a former prosecutor and Manhattan family court judge, has signed on to her eponymous syndicated show in 2021 after 25 years on the air. Later that year, she started a spinoff show, “Judy Justice,” which aired on Amazon Freevee.
During the 2016 election cycle, Sheindlin publicly suggested that then-candidate Donald Trump should “fix some of that rhetoric” and that she may have borrowed from his style.
Judge Judy previously won a Lifetime Achievement Emmy and had the No. 1 daytime show. 1 for over two decades.
Trump is the favorite to win the 2024 GOP award, but Haley has seen a sharp rise in the polls in recent weeks.
Most polls show him neck and neck with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, nationally and in Iowa, according to the RealClearPolitics aggregate.
Haley and DeSantis are set to clash again Wednesday night at a Des Moines debate hosted by CNN, while Trump will hold a town hall with Fox News simultaneously.
