Medders’ father is now fighting for his life after being diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and his mother is his full-time carer.
Julie likens her situation to Medders’ mother in the sense that they will both “lose” their husbands.
However, Julie will only lose hers temporarily while Medders’ mother will lose her mother completely at some point.
“There is a possibility that my husband and I will separate,” Julie said. “But there is a difference between me and my husband being separated for a period of time and having to say goodbye forever.”
He went on to explain, “It almost makes me feel ashamed because I’m worried. Unless a good God intervenes, [your mom is] have to say goodbye to her husband and she will not see him again on this side of heaven.”
Furthermore, the reality TV star relied heavily on her faith to prepare her for entering prison.
You’re Lying If You Say “I Don’t Have Any Concerns Or Concerns”
“Whatever you’re going through, because everyone is going through something. I don’t care who you are. If you listen to this podcast and you say, ‘My life is perfect. I don’t have any concerns. I don’t have any worries, I don’t have anything…’ you’re lying,” he said.
Medders added, “There will always be another season of hardship and difficulty.”
This burned Julie’s soul until she recited the sermon she had just heard.

“It is very easy for us to forget the dark season when we fly high,” he explained. “God doesn’t promise you a smooth sailing, but He promises you a safe landing.”
This quote made a deep impression on Julie.
“That really resonated with me. He didn’t promise us a smooth ride, but he promised that if we put our faith in him that we would have a safe landing,” said Julie. “Doesn’t mean it might be bumpy, doesn’t mean we might not get scarred along the way, but eventually we’ll get a safe landing.”
Can’t Be Good
Despite facing several years in prison, Julie admits “it’s okay not to be ok.”
“As the New Year approaches, I hope you’ll realize that it’s okay to not be okay. That you’re taking the time, that it’s January, that you’re going to start the year on a positive note and know that even though it’s the darkest season you’ve ever experienced, that you’re keeping the faith that this season won’t last forever,” he said.
Next week, Todd and Chase will sit down for an interview about everything on their “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, and they’ve promised nothing is off limits.
