Justin Chien’s father is Carl Chien, a well-known Taiwanese businessman. Carl Chien works at JP Morgan Bank as Vice Chairman of Asia Pacific. He is also a key member of their Asia Pacific Management Committee. At the bank, Carl Chien has to take care of the bank’s senior clients in 17 different Asian countries. Justin’s mother is called Virginia Hu, but people call her Ginny. Justin comes from a wealthy and well-connected family on his father’s side. His father Carl Chien had a top position in a major international bank. Justin has two brothers named Darren and Fred Chien Jr.
Justin Chien has other important people in his family as well. His uncle is Carol Chien. His paternal grandparents are Fredrick F. Chien, who was a prominent diplomat and politician in Taiwan, and Julie Tien. His grandfather and great-grandfather were Chien Shih-Liang and Chang Wan-tu. Also, his great-grandfather was Chien Hong-ye, who was the Chief Justice of China’s supreme court before he was assassinated in 1940. Justin Chien has quickly established himself as an emerging producer of note through his work on several decorated short films. His breakthrough came as executive producer on the 2018 release Continuum, which won Best Short Film at the Chinese American Film Festival and received a Golden Angel Award nomination.
Chien followed up this win by serving as producer of the 2020 Fine China Short nominated film. Most recently, he was an associate producer on the short film Endless Yesterdays 2021.
Television series
In addition to his producer credits, Justin Chien has started to make his mark as an actor in television in recent years. He made his TV debut in 2021 with a role in the award-winning series “Two Sides: Unfaithful where he played Mikey. Chien then appeared in an episode of ABC’s “Disney Television Discovers: Talent Showcase” as Allen.
He also played the role of Horace in the 2023 series “Sun Moon.” Most notably, Chien recently made headlines for his starring role in the highly anticipated 2024 action comedy series “The Brother Sun,” in which he features alongside Highdee Kuan and Sam Song Li.

Justin Chien is also known for his short films. He started acting in shorts in 2015 when he played himself in a movie called “Minolta.” Over the next few years, Chien acted in many other small films, usually in supporting roles under different character names.
He wore popular shorts such as “Bicycle Rider” in 2016 and “Reverallium” in 2017. From 2021 to now, Chien has been working harder than ever, appearing in over a dozen new shorts in just three years. He has shown that he can play all kinds of roles.
