Justin Mohn decapitated his dad after first shooting him in head with 9mm he bought the day before: DA

A disturbed conspiracy theorist accused of beheading his father and then holding his head up in a sickening online video had started shooting him dead with a gun he bought legally the day before, officials in Pennsylvania said Friday.

Justin Mohn, 32, bought a Sig Sauer 9mm handgun at a store a few miles from his Levittown home on Monday – hours after turning in a medical marijuana card so he could legally obtain the weapon, District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said.

The next day, he shot his 68-year-old father, Michael Francis Mohn, in the head, before beheading him with a knife and machete — and posted a long-winded YouTube video of himself holding the plastic-wrapped head, Schorn said.

Mohn’s mother had returned home to find her husband’s headless body Tuesday afternoon, with the head in a pot, officials said earlier.

The suspect was busted that night after breaking into a National Guard facility about 100 miles away — saying he was there to “mobilize the National Guard to take up arms against the federal government,” Schorn said.

He was allegedly still armed with the gun – which was missing a round that was used to shoot his father.

The DA described it as “appalling” that the footage of her holding her father’s head remained online for several hours, allowing at least 5,000 people to view it before it was pulled.

The video made it “proven to us that he had a clear mind in his purpose and what he was doing, apart from his beliefs,” Schorn said, saying the suspect had no history of mental illness.

Schorn declined to comment on a possible motive for the brutal murder. However, he noted that the rambling 14-minute video featured threats to target and arrest all federal employees — even sharing the address of a federal judge and giving him gifts.

Of his father, who works as an engineer with the geoenvironmental division of the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District, Mohn has said he is “in hell for being a traitor to his country,” Schorn said.

He also supports various conspiracy theories. He called himself the commander of America’s militia network as he railed against immigrants, the Biden administration, the LBGTQ community, Black Lives Matter, and “the vigilante mob from the left,” while calling for the slaughter and public execution of FBI agents, IRS workers, US Marshals, federal judges, border control officers and others “betrayed their country.”

Mohn was seen grinning in his mugshot as he was arraigned early Wednesday morning.

A woman who answered the phone at the Bucks County Public Defender’s Office said Friday that it represented her and the office declined to comment further.
