Justin Roiland was released after being accused by an ex-girlfriend of domestic assault. The Rick and Morty creator speaks after permission.
Justin Roiland ‘Very Shaken’
The author shared her feelings on social media after the domestic violence case against her was dismissed. “justice,” he captioned his lengthy screenshot of the incident.
“I always knew that these allegations were false,” he opened the statement. “I never doubted that this day would come. I am grateful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I am still deeply shocked by the horrific lies that have been reported about me during this process.”
Roiland’s ex-girlfriend filed papers with the court in January charging him with one felony count of domestic battery with bodily injury and one felony count of false imprisonment with threats, violence, fraud and/or deception.
The accuser known as Jane Doe claims the assault happened in or around January 2020. Roiland pleaded not guilty and posted a $50k bond in August 2020 after he was arrested at his home. Once she was bound, the show’s contestants were ordered to stay 100 feet away from Jane Doe per court order.

Roiland’s statement touched on how quickly friends and colleagues reacted to him without any evidence.
“Most importantly, I’m disappointed that so many people are so quick to judge without knowing the facts, just based on the words of an angry ex who tried to bypass due process and have me “cancelled.”
Roiland was immediately let go from her job at Adult Swim and Hulu which housed her Rick and Morty and Opposite Suria on the last one. At the time of the charges, Roiland’s attorney spoke with Daily Mail regarding the client.
“It’s hard to overstate how inaccurate the recent media coverage of this situation has been,” said Edward Welbourn. “To be clear, not only is Justin innocent but we also expect that this matter will be dismissed once the District Attorney’s office completes a systematic review of the evidence”
The attorney said, “We hope to clear Justin’s name and help him move forward as quickly as possible.”

It looks like Roiland may be on a mission to get his job back or at least get back on the show he created, Rick and Morty. “Now that the legal case is over, I am determined to move forward and focus on both my creative projects and restoring my good name,” he said summarizing his statement.
Other than that statement, Roiland has been relatively quiet on social media since the accusations and his fight for “justice”. He has been promoting his voice acting role in Koala Man and a game released by his company Squanch Games called ‘High On Life” and some great effects that happened during the making of the game.
Thankfully for Roiland, maybe things can start to get back to normal for him and his career!
