Fans expecting to see Timberlake take to the stage at the Roundhouse in Camden, London, have seen their hopes dashed as the singer had to cancel at the last minute.

Since the show was highly anticipated because it was free, Timberlake issued an apology on his Instagram Story, where he said he was “sad” to not be able to perform after being “so excited” about it.

“Hey guys…This is an unfortunate video to have to send, but I’m sure you can tell from the sound of things that I won’t be able to make it to the show on Friday,” Timberlake said in a post, per Billboard.

He added, “As you may or may not know, I’ve been fighting some kind of bug. And I thought it was getting better but it turned out to be worse.”

The performance was part of the singer’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which also covered Europe, North America, and Canada. This marks the singer’s return to touring after a five-year hiatus since his last trip for his fifth studio album, “Man of the Woods.”

The upcoming tour kicks off in Vancouver, Canada, in April and ends in North America in December, with tickets to several shows already sold out.

Timberlake initially hinted at the tour last month during a fun segment as part of his appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
