“America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor Alfonso Ribeiro are currently co-hosting the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”
For the past few seasons, fans of the reality competition show have been unhappy with the way Tyra Banks has been hosting, so when the show announced Ribeiro would be joining Banks, they were relieved. However, Banks still gets a lot of airtime, and fans aren’t happy with her constant mistakes.
Fans didn’t hold back their opinions about the host, but former “Dancing With the Stars” champion Kaitlyn Bristowe defended Tyra Banks.

After she finished handing out roses on “The Bachelorette,” Kaitlyn Bristowe went on ABC’s reality competition show, “Dancing With the Stars.” The 37-year-old took home the Mirror Ball trophy with his partner, Artem Chigvintsev during Season 29, which takes place in 2020.
During her time on the show, she formed a great relationship with many of the “Dancing With the Stars” staff, including host Tyra Banks.
Amid the backlash the current host received, Bristowe was in his corner. “I have a soft spot for Tyra [Banks],” Bristowe told Pop Culture. “He is a good person. He would contact us individually and check on us every week and see how we were doing and how we were feeling and I know that was very important to him and people didn’t see or hear about that.”
He continued, “I don’t know why people are so hard on him, but I think people don’t like change and the franchise has had Tom. [Bergeron] and Erin [Andrews] for so long and I don’t think they’re as comfortable with the same things as they used to be on their TV screens.”
“People are so quick to jump on things they don’t like and what they’re not familiar with and it’s very unfortunate,” Bristowe concluded.

While Bristowe admitted that she’s rooting for everyone on this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” there were a select few who were mentioned by name in a recent interview, including fellow “Bachelor” alum Gabby Windey.
“When I reached out, I was like, ‘I’m so excited for you. I’m here for you if you need anything — if you need advice, if you need a foot rub.'” Bristowe told AS. “I gave all my advice to him and he said that he’s got some big shoes to fill and he’s fine,” the season 11 leader said. “He’s doing amazing. I know how busy he is [it gets] and what time passed, so I’ve tried to call a few times and said, ‘Do you need anything?’ But I know he is very busy. There are so many people this season that I feel like I want. It’s just full of talent and inspiring people.”
Bristowe also named country music singer Jessie James Decker, who she recently had on her podcast — “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” — and “CODA” actor Daniel Durant.
