Kaley Cuoco is bonding with her 5-month-old daughter with animals, and it’s the cutest thing on the internet!
As fans may know, the mother of one, who welcomed her son on March 30 with her actor boyfriend Tom Pelphrey, introduced her little one to her four-legged friends even before she was a month old.
Now that her baby girl is all grown up, Cuoco thought it only fitting to give baby Matilda her first pet!

The joys of parenthood are endless, and Cuoco experienced this joy firsthand after giving her daughter her first four-legged friend. The “Big Bang Theory” actor took to his Instagram Story to share the happy news with his followers. He posted two photos capturing the special moment.

In the first picture, both mother and daughter look excited as they pose near an outdoor pony pen. Cuoco donned a navy blue oversized T-shirt, which she paired with athletic shorts and a pair of white sneakers. She accessorized her outfit with a three-piece necklace and fancy sunglasses.
On the other hand, Matilda looked adorable, wearing a white onesie paired with light blue shorts and a floral print baby sun hat. Cuoco proudly added text to the snap, writing, “Full time mom.” Next to the caption is blurred text that reads, “I’M IN HEAVEN.”
The next update gives fans a clearer look at the gray-looking ponies. Actress Harley Quinn, her five-month-old daughter is indoors with a horse in a stable.
The mother-of-one had a bright smile on her face, while baby Matilda, who had a bib around her neck, looked shocked. Captioning the post, Cuoco revealed, “Someone got a new pony…. And it’s not me lol.” He further wrote “horse girl” under the post.
While this may have been Matilda’s first pet, it wasn’t her first introduction to animals. In June, the “8 Simple Rule” actress opened up about the close relationship that exists between her daughter and their family pet dog Opal.
Cuoco took to her Instagram Stories to upload two photos showcasing the sweet bond that exists between baby Matilda and Opal. In the pictures, the little one is wearing a pink onesie and looks very amused as she reclines on a cozy gray sofa.

The family’s furry friend Opal lay down next to the baby and nuzzled the baby’s nose in the sweetest interaction. The excited mom captioned the first post “BESTIES.” She went on to reveal in a second photo that baby Matilda “was so excited when Opal came to kiss her.”
Cuoco’s Animal Insights Through the Ages – Then and Now
Seeing how little Matilda loves animals, it’s no wonder she got one for her mother, who is an animal lover herself! The “Big Bang Theory” star, who is open about her love of animals, has a very long list of pets that have joined her family.
The actor now has a pet named King. King is Cuoco’s Chihuahua who underwent surgery in July 2023 to have pieces of the foxtail tree removed from his body.
Miss Opal is another of Cuoco’s pets that she adopted from Deity Animal Rescue with Tom Pelphrey in February 2023. Miss Opal just so happens to be the newest member of the family, as the “Bewitched” actress and Pelphrey adopted the furry before the arrival of their baby girl Matilda in March.
The actress had another pet named Ruby, whom she adopted in 2014. Norman, another of Cuoco’s beloved dogs, died in 2021 after spending 14 years with the animal lover. She previously called the sweet pup “the whole world,” adding that his death was “a deep, heartbreaking pain that I didn’t know was possible.”
After Norman’s passing, the mother of one and her then-husband Karl Cook adopted a new dog named Larry — a loving 9-year-old mastiff-mutt. “When you know you know! Welcome to the family, Larry!” Cuoco captioned some sweet photos of the dog in June 2021.

Sadly, the “Young Sheldon” actor lost another dog named Dump Truck in May 2023. Cuoco described the Chihuahua, also known as Dumps and Dumpy, as someone who was with her through her “toughest moments” and brought her “endless joy.”
Meanwhile, in 2019, Cuoco was given a bull named Blueberry by her ex-husband, Cook, for Valentine’s Day. Since taking ownership of Blueberry, the actress has championed the breed, sharing that when she was just 3 months old, she was banned from the building because of her breed. The mother dog also has another pit bull mix, which she rescued named Shirley.
Besides having a dog as a pet, the 37-year-old actress is also a horse lover and owns more than eight horses. Their names include Bella, Poker Face, Smooshy, Bionetty, Fiona, Zaza, Thor, Santos, and Zee-Yah.
