When he was 15, his parents divorced and he moved in with his mother. He attended Hebron School in Ooty and went to Goldsmiths, University of London to study drama and theatre.

He was shy and quiet as a child. He intends to become a criminal psychologist. While he was studying at Goldsmiths, University of London, he started working in a theater company called Theater of Relativity. He acted in various dramas such as The Blue Room and The Dispute.
