Kalki Koechlin was born on January 10, 1984 (age 38 years; in 2022) in Pondicherry, India. His parents were devotees of Sri Aurobindo, so, he spent most of his childhood in Auroville. When he was 15, his parents divorced and he moved in with his mother. He attended Hebron School in Ooty and went to Goldsmiths, University of London to study drama and theatre.
He was shy and quiet as a child. He intends to become a criminal psychologist. While he was studying at Goldsmiths, University of London, he started working in a theater company called Theater of Relativity. He acted in various dramas such as The Blue Room and The Dispute. Kalki also works as a waitress on weekends when she is in London.

Career
Kalki started her acting career by playing the role of Chanda in the drama “Dev.D” (2009). Her performance in the film earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Next, he appeared in “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (2011) and “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” (2013).
After that, he appeared in the political drama “Shanghai” and the supernatural thriller “Ek Thi Daayan.”
He continued his career with the independent films “Waiting” (2015), “A Death in the Gunj” (2016), and “Margarita with a Straw” (2014).
In 2011, Koechlin made his debut as a screenwriter with the crime thriller “That Girl in Yellow Boots.” He played the lead role in the film.
