Kamala Harris didn’t hold back on her opinion about Donald Trump’s part in eliminating federal abortion rights.
The US’s first female Vice President recently voiced her displeasure with her “Fight For Reproductive Freedoms” campaign, slamming the former president for his pivotal role in overturning Roe v. Wade. In his words, “This is a decision he is proud of.”

Harris shared her latest criticism of Trump on Instagram, releasing a snippet of her speech at a reproductive freedom event on February 6. He claimed the elder politician “intended” to have Roe v. Wade overturned during his administration, saying:
“Former President, Donald Trump, personally chose three members of the Supreme Court of the United States because he wanted them to overturn Roe. He meant for them to take away your freedom. And it was a decision he was proud of.”
He went on to say, “He said, ‘well, for years,’ and I’ll quote, ‘they tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade,’ tried to end it. And then, but he said, I quote, ‘I did it,’ he said, ‘and I’m proud to have done it,’ he said.
Repeating Trump’s words stung Harris, whose eyes welled up with emotion as he emphasized the importance of his insensitive remarks. “He is proud, proud, that women across our country are suffering? Proud? That women have been deprived of their basic liberties?” he wondered, adding:
“Proud doctors can be sent to prison, in some cases, for life, for taking care of patients? That today’s young women have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers? How dare he!”
Harris doubled down on Trump’s role in destroying women’s freedoms in the caption of the post, writing: “Make no mistake: Donald Trump handpicked three Supreme Court Justices so they could overturn Roe.”
His powerful words generated more than three hundred fan comments in less than an hour. However, the message board was divided between Trump supporters and Harris fans.
“He sure did! Thank you, Mr. President Trump! We need you back. Trump2024,” one person praised the 77-year-old politician. Another supporter said: “Get another topic, fetus killer!” While a third declared: “TRUMP WILL BE BACK.”
For Harris supporters, one wrote, “Yes Kamala. Amazing speech to see yesterday in person. We trust women!” Another fan wrote: “We love you, VP Harris!” While one IG user admitted: “I find myself agreeing more with @kamalaharris today!”
Donald Trump Takes Credit For Overturning Roe v. Wade

Harris’s remarks about Trump didn’t come off the mark, as the former president has previously bragged about his role in overturning Roe v. Wade. Last May, he took credit for eliminating abortion rights in a lengthy post on his social media page.
“After 50 years of failure, with no one coming close, I was able to kill Roe v. Wade, much to everyone’s ‘surprise’,” declared the 77-year-old player.
He claimed his actions put “the Pro-Life movement in a strong negotiating position” against abortion rights advocates. The former president patted himself on the back for nationwide abortion limits, declaring:
“Without mbe, there will be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed upon. Without me, the pro-Life movement will continue to lose.”
Trump’s gleeful declaration of his role in overturning Roe v. Wade may be his way of rallying potential voters in the 2024 presidential election. However, this move could be problematic, given the backlash from those who support abortion rights.
