Internet users mocked Vice President Kamala Harris after she was seen in a viral video clapping to a protest song directed at her.
The incident occurred during the VP’s visit to Puerto Rico, where he was greeted by angry protesters who disagreed with his presence.

On Friday, Kamala Harris visited Puerto Rico to emphasize the Biden administration’s support for the island’s recovery from recent natural disasters and economic problems.
While the vice president visited several places in the island nation, his stop at the Goyoco community center in the Santurce neighborhood of San Juan led to a drama he certainly did not expect.
At the location, Puerto Rican protesters greeted him with disapproval, expressing it through Spanish songs with sharp lyrics aimed at him.
“We want to know, Kamala, why did you come here? We want to know what you think about the colony,” the protesters cheered together, adding: “Long live Palestine and Free Haiti too.”
However, Harris didn’t seem to notice as he was seen happily clapping and smiling until an assistant alerted him. He then immediately showed a stern expression and lowered his hand.

After a video of the incident went viral, social media users heaped more criticism on Harris, slamming him for failing to understand the intentions of the Puerto Rican protesters.
One called him “the dumbest person on the planet,” while another called him an “absolute loser.”

The visit was Harris’ first time in Puerto Rico since he became US vice president in 2018. Before heading to the community center where the trolling incident took place, the VP dropped by a home outside San Juan that was damaged during 2017’s deadly spat. Hurricane Maria.
Through a federal program, the house has since been remodeled and equipped with solar panels and a water tank.

Recently, Harris came under fire for sharing a chart of “job growth” achieved under the Biden administration.
On the chart, Joe Biden’s administration had the highest number of jobs, earning praise from Harris, who highlighted the nation’s economic progress in the caption.
He wrote: “Our country beat economic forecasts and broke records for job growth.”
However, in the comments, not everyone is satisfied with the statistics. One user wrote, “Everyone has at least two jobs these days. Can we work on improving the quality of life? Like better wages, affordable access to health care, more vacation days and longer paid maternity leave. People many are mentally unhealthy.”
