Kanika Kapoor was born on 21 August 1978 (age 44 years; in 2022) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a business class family with a musical background. Kanika attended Lucknow’s Loreto Convent School and went to Bhatkhande Music Institute, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh to pursue BA and MA in music. He started learning music from a very young age from Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra. At the age of 11, he got an opportunity to sing on All India Radio (AIR).
Apart from singing, she is also a trained Kathak dancer.

Parents & Siblings
Her father, Rajeev Kapoor, is a businessman. He is the third generation in his family’s business in the electrical trade. Her mother, Poonam Kapoor, is an exporter of Ayam work and runs a boutique called Kalakrutti.
He has an older brother, Shasha, who owns a company in London.
Husband & Son
Kanika met Dr. Raj Chandok (his cousin’s best friend) is at his cousin’s wedding in Khajuraho and he falls in love with her. The couple tied the knot in 1997 and moved to London. They have two daughters, Aayana, and Samara and a son, Yuvraaj. All his children have British citizenship. After about 15 years together, the couple separated in 2010; because Kanika found her husband cheating on her. The couple divorced in 2012.
On 20 May 2022, she married NRI businessman Gautam Hathiramani.
Career
Kanika Kapoor made her singing debut in 2012 with the song “Jugni Ji,” featuring Dr. Zeus. The song was a remix version of the Pakistani Sufi Song “Alif Allah,” and it became a huge commercial success within weeks of its release.
In 2014, she started her Bollywood playback singing career with “Baby Doll” for the film Ragini MMS 2. The song became widely popular and received critical acclaim.
After that, he lent his voice to popular songs like “Lovely,” “Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan,” “Nachan Farrate,” “Jugni Peeke Tight Hai,” “Jab Chaye Tera Jadoo,” and “Beat Pe Booty.”
In 2015, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the UK, she sang a welcome song for him.
In 2018, he performed for the second time in front of PM Narendra Modi; Kanika sings the Indian national anthem.
Apart from singing, she runs her own fashion brand “Kanika Kapoor: House of Chikankari” to promote the art of embroidery and textile decoration.
In 2016, Kanika supported the Swiss watch manufacturer 88 Rue du Rhone.
Controversy
- Singer & Music Producer Dr Zeus is not happy with Kanika as he is not credited as the producer of her debut song “Baby Doll Main Sone Di.” Dr Zeus, during an interview, expressed his anger and said Meet Bros reaped the fruits of his hard work as they were given credit for the song.
- After testing positive for the novel coronavirus on March 20, 2020, he was heavily bashed on social media for being careless about the severity of the disease; as he had attended at least three rallies in Lucknow, including spending the night in a five-star hotel in the city. According to some medical officials at the Sanjay Gandhi PGIMS in Lucknow, where the singer is undergoing treatment, he throws a lot of tantrums and wants celebrity-type treatment.

- Her hobbies include doing yoga, shopping and traveling.
- He belongs to a family with roots in music. His uncle learned music from late Pandit Ganesh Mishraji and he used to sit with them and practice music.
