A new angle has emerged on the mass shooting that left one dead and 22 injured during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.
According to authorities, the disturbance and violence at the event appeared to stem from a dispute between multiple individuals, not an act of violence.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves confirmed Thursday that the total number of victims in the shooting was 23, including the woman who tragically lost her life.
Graves added that among the 22 people injured, the ages ranged from eight to 47 years old, with half of the injured being under the age of 16. He shared that the unfortunate incident happened in the middle of what “seemed to be a dispute between some people that ended in gunfire.”
Graves also revealed during the press conference that while authorities are “working to determine the involvement of others,” three individuals, including two minors, are in custody in connection with the shooting.

In addition, he mentioned, “It should be noted that we have found some firearms. This incident remains a very active investigation.”
It should be noted that investigators are urging witnesses, individuals with cell phone recordings and victims of violence to call a dedicated line.
According to ESPN, the shooting outside Union Station happened despite the presence of more than 800 law enforcement officers, some stationed inside the building and nearby.
Mayor Quinton Lucas, who attended the event with his wife and mother, was among the people who ran for safety when shots were fired Wednesday.

Since the shooting happened, several Chiefs players have shared their reactions online, with Patrick Mahomes saying via X, “Praying for Kansas City.”
Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, followed in her husband’s footsteps with a message condemning violence. He added, “Praying for Kansas City & America in general, this is rough.”
Drue Tranquill, another Chiefs star, shared the tribute, urging others to join him in prayer for the victims of “that heinous act.”
“Praying that doctors & first responders have a steady hand & all will experience a full recovery,” the lineman wrote.
Likewise, Travis Kelce expressed condolences and solidarity with the shooting victims after the Valentine’s Day incident. Taking to X, he wrote:
“I am saddened by the tragedy that happened today. My heart goes out to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and has been affected. KC, you mean so much to me.”
The heartfelt statement received over 280k likes and many compliments from fans, with one lengthy response:
“Thank you, Travis. No one in a million years thought something like this would happen. You all have brought joy to the fans and the kids……..they love you all……as we all do. Prayers for healing for the injured and comfort for the family of the deceased.”
On the other hand, another X user wants the tight end to do more than share his grief on social media. As one user urged, “Travis, please use your big platform and voice to call for gun safety laws to be implemented so we can prevent future tragedies.”
