Kansas City chiropractor charged with sexually assaulting ‘dozens’ of Amish girls under guise of medical exams

A Missouri chiropractor spent decades targeting Amish girls and women so he could perform deviant “treatments” on them under the guise of medical exams, prosecutors alleged in disturbing detail today.

David B. Clark, 70, is charged with five counts of felony sodomy and sexual abuse for a series of assaults dating back to at least the 1990s, but Jackson County prosecutors said they believe his crimes took place as early as the 80s and included dozens of victims.

Clark specialized in administering what he claimed were routine breast and pelvic examinations, but victims said he would instead grope their chests and even stimulate their genitals with the aim of making them orgasm.

The current charges against Clark stem from five accusers in an investigation led by the FBI, according to the Kansas City Star, four of whom were minors at the time. One of the women was under 14 when Clark first preyed on her.

Clark characterized himself as a “naturopath” at his clinic outside Kansas City, Health+Plus, which investigators said was intended to attract members of the Amish community who had little experience with medicine outside their community.

Many of his victims had never visited a medical professional before they met Clark, according to Fox 4, and did not understand what was supposed to happen during gynecological treatment, let alone basic sex education.

In some cases, the victim’s parents were also present during the attack.

One victim said Clark’s behavior changed depending on whether his parents were in the room.

Another described being left “very uncomfortable” after Clark – who worked without gloves – gave her the “pelvis treatment”, but it wasn’t until adulthood that she realized what had happened to her.

A third told investigators Clark put a suction cup on her breast to treat a stuffy nose.

His behavior even raised eyebrows among his staff — one employee recalled Clark saying, “The first few times you do this, you’re going to be stiff” as he used a model of female genitalia to demonstrate how to perform a pelvic exam.

Clark’s creepy habits allegedly extend into his hobbies as well.

When the FBI raids his home in June 2022, they find a draft of a novel about a doctor who makes house calls to a woman but becomes aroused while he treats her.

A letter was also found on his computer written from the perspective of a father who fantasizes about a mahram affair.
