The rapper is still letting a bunch of people down on his antics tour. The “Stronger” rapper appeared on The Drink Champs podcast and made dangerous remarks about Floyd’s death. He claims that the black man who was killed by the police on the streets of Minneapolis, in a rather obvious way, actually died of a drug overdose and not a police officer who knelt on his neck for 9 minutes.

The comments reached East Floyd’s still grieving family and they were not happy with what West said.

Lee Merritt, a civil rights attorney and attorney for Floyd’s family, got the 45-year-old rapper’s attention the best way he knew how, through social media. Merritt posted that the family is interested in pursuing legal action against the “Mercy” Rapper.

“Although one cannot defame a dead person, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering a lawsuit over Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death,” he wrote.

“Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl is not a criminally and civilly created atrocity that weakens & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”

Meritt was immediately met with support from his followers who also believed that the West was slightly out of line.

“It’s a shame you gave him the space to spew lies and misinformation about the most painful, inhumane way someone’s father, beloved son died. Ye is clearly not at his best right now and it’s a shame people are using him for influence and political gain,” wrote a concerned fan.

“You basically gave that guy a platform to say George Floyd died of a drug overdose and now you back off and make excuses,” one follower claimed.

Finally, one comment points out that no matter what, it’s on video and people see what they see. “Well, you didn’t say anything to correct him about George Floyd. WE CARE! The officer’s knee was on his neck.”
