The rapper is known for sampling many artists in his albums and Donda 2 follows in the same footsteps. But this time, the rapper was accused by a company called Trax Records for not getting permission to sample one of their songs.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by The Blast, Ye sampled Marshall Jefferson’s “Move Your Body” on “Flowers,” a song reportedly about his estranged ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Trax Records claims that “Move Your Body” instantly became known as “The House Music Anthem.”
In the filing, the label says Ye didn’t get permission to sample the song on his album, and to make matters worse, they say “an unauthorized sample taken by West is repeated at least 22 times throughout “Bunga.

The record company claimed in the lawsuit that “West’s unauthorized use of “Move Your Body” is a clear violation of copyright in the Master Recording of the musical “Move Your Body”, and is of course a blatant exploitation of the work without permission and compensation. . Ye is being sued for profits and for damages below the maximum allowable amount of $150,000. Trax is also seeking a preliminary and permanent injunction that will prevent Ye from directly or indirectly infringing in any way any rights in and to the Master Recordings.
Kanye is currently busy playing the role of husband again, but this lawsuit may just bring him back to reality!

While Ye seems to have moved on, Kim is candid about what it’s like to be a parent with the rapper. “Co-parenting is so hard,” she told Angie Martinez on the “Angie Martinez IRL Podcast.”
Kim spoke about staying strong and holding Kanye in a positive light in front of the four children they share. North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
“If they don’t know what’s being said, why would I bring that energy to them? That’s real, heavy, grown-up — that they’re not ready to face,” he said. “When they are, we’ll have that conversation. One day, my children will thank me for not sitting here and insulting their father. I can.”
Kanye has yet to respond to the alleged infringement.
