Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, Takapa spoke about Sikkim’s film industry. He said,
Filmmakers have a certain level of support that allows them to grow. And because of that they have been able to create a film that has a pan-Indian impact. It may not have as strong a reach as Bollywood but the numbers we are talking about are quite large in terms of the region. Obviously, Sikkim wants more big budget Bollywood projects to come and work there… Produce movies. It’s good for tourism and at the end of the day, we’re talking about revenue. It’s always a plus point. This gives you little hope because you don’t have an existing audience, I mean in terms of population. So you hope it’s open to more people – an idea called world cinema.”
