Kate Hudson says she is “choosing not to second guess” her decision to walk down the aisle with ex-husband Chris Robinson. The couple tied the knot in 2000, and at the time, the actor was just 21 years old.
Speaking about the experience on the podcast, the actress shared that it wasn’t “impulsive” because she was “drunkenly in love” with him at the time. She also revealed that he taught her “what it’s like to be loved unconditionally” and credited her with being “very important” to his growth.

While making an appearance at The World’s First PodcastHudson explained to hosts Erin Foster and Sara Foster her reasons for marrying Robinson in her early twenties.
Defending her decision, the actor said it was not an “impulsive” act and that she was “madly in love” at the time.
“I went to New York, and I met Chris, and [when] I came home, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to marry this guy,’” the 43-year-old said. Page Six. “I was just like, ‘You know what? I’m going to dive into this.'”
The two married in 2000 and welcomed a son, Ryder, before splitting in 2007.
Looking back on walking down the aisle at the time, Foster said she “chose not to guess” and was too “in love” to “pretend” waiting for a different time in their future.
“I just jump right into everything I do,” he said. “I just didn’t think twice.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, the “Knives Out” star shared that her ex-husband taught her “what it feels like to be loved unconditionally” and said that he was “very important” to her growth.
“Chris, like, completely opened those floodgates for me, forever, no matter how complicated the relationship was at one point,” the Golden Globe winner said. “The most important moment for me was meeting him and him letting me understand the feeling.”
After divorcing the Black Crowes rocker, 56, Hudson welcomed two more children, Bingham and Rani, with Matt Bellamy and Danny Fujikawa separately.
The actress is currently engaged to Fujikawa, with the couple having been together since 2016.

Hudson also discussed the loss of the female lead in Luhrmann’s 2001 film “Moulin Rouge!” The actor shared that he “badly wanted” the part but ended up losing it to Nicole Kidman.
“I really wanted the part, and it was written at the time for a 19-year-old girl, I believe,” she told her host, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“Then what happened was I was in the audition process, and then Nicole [Kidman] has a relationship with Baz and wants to do it. And of course, it was like, ‘I think Nicole Kidman did it,'” he added.
In “Moulin Rogue!” Kidman stars in the film alongside Ewan McGregor, with the pair playing Satine and Christian respectively. The film went on to win eight Oscars at the 74th Academy Awards, eventually winning two awards for best art direction and best costume design.

Hudson went on to say that she grew to love Luhrmann after she auditioned for the female lead.
“He’s really great. And energetically, I feel very connected to the way he does things,” he said. “So I was disappointed. Of course, totally understand, because it was Nicole. It couldn’t have been more different… I really wanted the part.”
When Hudson was asked about the roles he turned down but later regretted, the actor explained why he couldn’t name anything.
“I try not to think about things like that,” he added. “You know how those things are like, ‘Oh, one decision can change the trajectory of your life?’ I never want to think like that.”
