Kate Middleton’s Car Pic Photographer Denies Editing The Shot Amid Scrutiny

Kate Middleton’s car photographer has denied claims that the photo was edited amid scrutiny from online speculators.

The photo was taken as Kate and her husband, Prince William, sat in the back seat of the car as they left Windsor Castle.

According to the photographer, the picture was simply “cropped and lightened,” adding that “nothing has been doctored.”

Following the backlash over an edited Mother’s Day photo of Kate and her children, Kensington Palace is again facing scrutiny for a different photo of Kate sitting in a car with her husband, Prince William. William headed to a service on Commonwealth Day, while Kate went on a private date.

Some online users claimed the footage was “heavily edited as well,” citing theories to support their beliefs. However, the photographer who took the images has come out to defend his work, saying that the photos were “cropped and lightened,” but “nothing has been fixed.”

“We don’t change our photos in Photoshop other than adjusting light levels if necessary. Car shots are unpredictable at the best of times, and with a little reflection on the glass, it can be difficult,” said photographer, Jim Bennett, who works with Goff Photos, per E! News.

Bennett added that he was surprised to see Kate in the vehicle with Prince William when he took the photo.

She continued, “It wasn’t until I checked behind the camera to make sure I had Prince William’s frame that I realized there was someone sitting next to him. It turned out to be Catherine!”

Several comments made by online users on the photo show details that allegedly confirm that the photo has been heavily edited.

“The car was blue, but William arrived in black at the Commonwealth Day service,” one person said.

Another user commented, “More proof that this story is a lie, is that this car is blue, William arrived at Westminster in a black car.”

Omg, Kensington Palace & UK media manipulated this photo too. Look at the bricks. They Don’t Match. See the same location as Pippa’s drive & how the bricks match. The photo with Kate also seems to be from 2023 not yesterday, but it’s also heavily edited. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/TXPs1kr0Al

“The photo with Kate looks like it’s also from 2023 not yesterday, but it’s heavily edited too,” said a third person, adding that the “bricks” on the wall don’t match.

However, some other users said that the photo was not edited and also gave reasons to support their claims.

One user said, “Nahhh – the window is tinted. The photo was edited to show the passenger, and the editing process changed the way the wall appeared. Bigger story why THIS is the photo they took out?? The best they could have done was when he moved view.”

Kensington Palace Pressed To Release Original Mother’s Day Photo

The release of the car photo has led to much speculation that Kensington Palace is “interested” in moving on from the Mother’s Day fiasco, having stated they will not release an unedited version.

However, they are still under increasing pressure to drop the original amid pundits’ claims that Kate’s apology was insufficient.

“Kate’s statement does not answer the question. We can all see the photo has been edited,” said Graham Smith of the anti-monarchy group Republic, according to The Daily Mail.

Smith added, “The question is why? Why didn’t they release the original photo? Statements elaborated through a press office that says nothing and explains nothing shows a general disregard for the public…”

“Kensington Palace must now provide a full and reasonable explanation of how and why this attempted media manipulation took place,” said former journalist Michael Cole. “Otherwise, there is a danger of permanent damage to the royal family’s credibility.”

Kate’s apology to the public came via a social media post where she tried to downplay the incident.

“Like most amateur photographers, I sometimes experiment with editing. I would like to apologize for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday. I hope everyone celebrating has a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” he wrote.

Due to wild conspiracy theories surrounding her health and whereabouts, royal fans found it hard to believe Kate’s tweet, noting that it would be strange for the royal family to make such a mistake with Photoshop.
