Kate Middleton’s Name Cleared From Trooping The Colour Attendees List

Speculation about Kate Middleton’s return to her royal duties has been officially put to rest, as she is no longer listed as one of the Trooping The Color contestants.

The drama began when Britain’s official military website claimed the Princess of Wales would make a grand return at an engagement in June. However, the Palace denied this statement, stating that they were not consulted about his appearance at the upcoming event.

Kate Middleton’s Return to the Spotlight May Not Take Place at the Trooping the Color Parade

Since her stomach surgery in January, Middleton has avoided the spotlight and is recovering at home. This is why many were surprised when the Army’s official website claimed he would be participating in the annual military review at the Horse Guards Parade in London on June 8.

The website initially stated the Princess of Wales would conduct the review in her capacity as honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards. However, her office at Kensington Palace issued a statement on Tuesday, insisting they had not been consulted about her appearance.

Since their statement, Middleton’s name has now been removed from the site. The annual troop review is an event involving 1,400 soldiers and is the precursor to the Trooping the Color parade.

It takes place on Horse Guards Parade, and it is accompanied by a carriage procession up and down the Mall, which stretches from Buckingham Palace to central London.

The annual ceremony usually features Middleton’s husband, Prince William, along with other royals such as Princess Anne. They would usually be on horseback, accompanied by King Charles; however, it is uncertain if the king – who is undergoing treatment for cancer – will be able to take an active role in the event.

Like Middleton, King Charles has canceled most personal engagements and any public engagements while he undergoes his treatment. As for her daughter-in-law, it is known that she is undergoing rehabilitation at home at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate.

Additionally, his office said he would not resume duties until after Easter, which falls on March 31. This date may not be ideal as the Middleton children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will be on school holidays at the time.

The Welsh couple usually take time off to be with their children, raising the possibility that Middleton will avoid returning to her public duties until mid-April, each PEOPLE.

Kate Middleton Seen Rarely Outing Before Dominating Color Speculation

As noted, the Ministry of Defense raised hopes about Middleton’s return to her royal duties with a statement on their official website that read:

“Trooping the Color reviewed by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales also includes 250 soldiers from the Foot Guards who will line the parade route along The Mall.

The soldiers were to be inspected by “Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, Colonel of the Irish Guards.” At the time, the announcement sparked excitement from fans, with tickets for pre-Trooping the Color viewings selling for £5 to £15 on the website.

The event will mark the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance since she was recently spotted at a rare event with her mother, Carole Middleton.

The royal looked somber as he climbed into the passenger seat of an SUV driven by his mother. She hid her eyes behind sunglasses and swung her brown hair over her shoulders. Despite the sullen atmosphere, the mother of three looked healthy.

Speculation about Middleton’s health has continued since she disappeared from public view while recovering from stomach surgery.

Concerns about her well-being were heightened when her husband, Prince William, pulled out of his Godfather’s funeral due to “personal matters.” However, a representative of the princess addressed the rumor in a statement that read:

“Kensington Palace explained in January the princess’s recovery timeline, and we will only provide important updates. That guidance is still there.”

The representative confirmed that the mother of three is doing well and is taking time to fully recover from her surgery.

Royal sources previously commented on Middleton’s well-being after a reporter from a Spanish news program claimed she was in a coma due to health complications from the procedure. The source denied this claim, claiming:

“There is absolutely no truth to the reports that Kate is in a coma. He is recovering at home.”
