This private event marked their first performance since the sad incident forced McPhee to miss the last two dates of their Asian tour. At the time, it was reported that a source confirmed that the “Over It” singer was already on her way to her home in California.
The “Negara Keselesa” actor also informed his Asian fans of his absence on the last two Jakarta shows through a message on Instagram:
“Dear Jakarta fans, it is with a heavy heart that I announce I have to miss our last 2 shows of our Asian run. David and I have suffered a terrible tragedy in our family, and at least one of us needs to go home to our family.”
Expressing his regret and sincere desire to “come back one day and perform” for them, he pleaded with fans to understand them regarding the incident. The 39-year-old ended her message warmly, signing off with, “Love, Katharine.”
His colleagues and fans quickly rallied and offered their unwavering support in the comments section. Singer Nicole Scherzinger shared her sentiments by writing, “Sending my love and prayers to your family,” while actress Amanda Kloots added, “Sending you lots of love. I’m thinking of you.”
