Katherine Langford was born on Monday, April 29, 1996 (age 24 years; as in 2020), in Perth, Western Australia, and grew up in Applecross, Australia. His zodiac sign is Taurus. She began taking voice lessons in 2005 with Heidi Lake and has trained in classical, jazz and contemporary vocals. He did his schooling from Perth Modern School, where he studied music and drama and was the sports captain there. He is also a national level swimmer. Towards the end of his high school, he had decided to become an actor but faced difficulties as he was not accepted into any acting school. He then began taking acting classes and workshops in Perth; he juggled between three part-time jobs, and finally managed to find an agent. He majored in Musical Theater from the Principal Academy of Dance & Theater Arts, Leederville. In 2016, she was selected for the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) Advanced Actor Residency. Katherine began her career by appearing in independent short films, Story of Miss Oxygen (2015), Daughter (2016), and Imperfect Quadrant (2016).
She auditioned for the television series ’13 Reasons Why’ (2017-20) via Skype and won the lead role of ‘Hannah Baker’ in the series. For her role in the series, she was nominated for Performer of the Year at the 2017 Golden Derby Awards, Best Actress (Television Drama Award) at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, Best Actress in a Show at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards. , Drama TV Star Award 2017 at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards, and Best Actress – Television Series Drama at the 2018 Satellite Awards.
