However, despite his attempt to void the contract, citing health issues, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner ruled in favor of the celebrity couple, stating: “Westcott did not present convincing evidence that he lacked capacity in the real estate contract.”
Perry’s attorney, Eric Rowen, highlighted Westcott’s breach of contract, stating: “Today’s proposed verdict is clear — the judge found that Mr. Westcott could prove nothing other than that he was of sound mind when he engaged in complex negotiations over several weeks with multiple parties to conduct lucrative real estate sales that resulted in huge profits for him.”
He added: “The evidence shows that Mr Westcott breached the contract for no other reason than he had changed his mind.”
