Russell Brand’s nickname, given by his ex-wife Katy Perry, was recently exposed after the comedian was accused of sexual assault and rape by different women.
The alleged incident occurred at the height of Brand’s fame in the acting industry. The “Get Him to The Greek” star has since denied the allegations and suggested that he was targeted for his controversial views.

Morgan recalled that Perry had called the British comedian Rasputin, which is Russian for “immoral person.”
The name is also associated with a high-profile man from the Russian court of the 1900s who was known for wooing women.
It’s unclear why Perry gave Brand the name, but he admitted that he was “excited” about it. The duo first met in 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards and quickly became an item. Four months later, they got engaged while on vacation in India and subsequently tied the knot in October 2010.
Their relationship attracted public attention but did not last long. In December 2011, Brand began divorce proceedings, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce was officially finalized in July 2012.

The shocking nickname revelation comes after Brand faced allegations of sexual assault and rape from different women.
One of her accusers shared that she initially met Brand at a party in June 2012, where they exchanged contact information and later engaged in consensual sexual activity at her Los Angeles residence.
On the morning of July 1, 2012, he met Brand again. However, during this encounter, he suggested that she engage in sexual activity with him and a friend waiting in his bedroom, but she refused. However, when she “tried to get away from him”, Brand pushed her against a wall, grabbed her panties and pulled her aside.
“He is much taller than me. And he had a sad look in his eyes again. And I can’t move. And I told him, “Get down, get down,”‘ recalled the victim said in an interview with Time.
She added that Brand did not oblige her request and instead raped her against the wall without a condom.

In response to the accusations, Brand posted a video online in which he denied ever committing the alleged acts.
He admits that, during the height of his fame in the acting industry, he was a bit of a jerk. However, he later insisted that all sexual interactions were consensual.
“Now at the time of the relationship, the relationship I have is really, always like each other,” he said, every Daily Mail. “I was always transparent about it then, almost too transparent, and I’m transparent about it now.”
Brand went on to suggest that the entire indictment was aimed at bringing him down because of his highly controversial views.
“To see that transparency metastasize to a crime, which I deny, makes me question whether there is another agenda at play,” he added.

Meanwhile, Perry has remained silent about the allegations against Brand since they started making the rounds online.
However, the resurgence of a 2013 interview in which he discussed the end of his marriage seems to hint that there is more to Brand that no one else knows.
“At first when I met him, he wanted the same, and I think a lot of times strong men want the same, but then they get the same, and they’re like, ‘I can’t deal with that equation,'” Perry revealed at the time that, per Page Six.
He added, “I felt a lot of responsibility for the ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I didn’t necessarily reveal because I kept it in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like, ‘It’s not because of me; this is beyond me.’ So I’ve moved on from that.”
