He did his schooling from Jaycee English High School, GLP School, and Rajah High School in Nileshwar.
During her school days, she underwent training for the classical dance forms of Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam.

Kavya Madhavan was born in a Malayali Family. His father’s name is P Madhavan. His mother’s name is Shyamala. She has an elder brother named Mithun Madhavan, who is a fashion designer and producer.
She married Nishal Chandra on February 9, 2009.
After his marriage with Nishal, he moved to Kuwait. However, Kavya returned home in June 2009 and filed for divorce on 24 July 2010. Their divorce was finalized on 30 May 2011. She married actor Dileep on 25 November 2016 at Hotel Vedanta, Kochi.
The couple has a daughter named Mahalakshmi (born on 19 October 2018). Kavya has a stepdaughter named Meenakshi, who is Dileep’s daughter from his first marriage to actor Manju Warrier. Reportedly, it was Meenakshi, who had suggested the name for her half-sister.

Kavya Madhavan started her career as a child actor, at the age of 5, when she appeared in the Malayalam film “Pookkalam Varavayi” (1991) in the role of ‘Geethu’s friend (Baby Shamili).’
He next appeared as a child artist in films like “Pavam IA Ivachan” (1994), “Parassala Pachan Payyannur Paramu” (1994), and “Azhakiya Ravanan” (1996). She made her debut in the lead role of ‘Radha’ in the film “Chandranudikkunna Dikhil” (1999).
She acted in various films like “Darling Darling” (2000), “Meesa Madhavan” (2002), “Sadanandante Samayam” (2003), “Runway” (2004), “Inspector Garud” (2007), “Paappi Appacha” (2010), “Vellaripravinte Changaney),” (2P201thi16um) She made her Tamil film debut with “Kasi” (2000) in the role of Lakshmi ( Vikram’s younger brother).

Controversy
- Kavya and Dileep have done more than 18 films together, which often leads the audience to believe that the two are a couple. When Dileep divorced his wife Manju Warrier in 2015, Kavya took charge of him. Kavya was accused of being the ‘other woman’ in their lives, although Kavya and Dileep continued to deny their relationship.
- In 2016, Dileep and Kavya married each other in a private ceremony at Hotel Vedanta, Kochi. Following this, Dileep made several controversial statements about his marriage to Kavya, after which he was called a ‘sexist’ and ‘male chauvinist.’ In the interview, Dileep said-
When I felt I should get married, my daughter, mother, relatives and friends sat together and we made this decision. My ‘Koottukaari’ (friend) is someone who is often gossiped about, because of me. So I thought if I married someone else, it wouldn’t be right (laughs). Hence, this decision…”While Dileep was lashed with words like a misogynist, Kavya was lashed for being a silent spectator and completely submissive in front of him.
- On the night of February 17, 2017, an actor working in Tamil and Telugu Cinema was kidnapped and allegedly molested in his car. The incident created a huge ruckus in the film industry and big names like Dileep, and his wife Kavya came into the limelight. The main accused in the case, Pulsar Suni called Kavya ‘Madam,’ who gave him money to attack the actress. However, he also stated that ‘Puan’ only handed over the money and had nothing to do with the case.

- Kavya entered the film industry, at the age of five with director Kamal’s ‘Pookkalam Varavayi’ (1991). It was due to his father wanting him to become an actor. His father saw director Kamal’s advertisement looking for a child artist for his film in “Malayala Manorma” and decided to send his picture.
- On the one hand, when Kavya’s father wants her to become an actress, her mother also doesn’t like to think about it. All her mother wants from her daughter is to get a degree and get married soon.
