“Law & Order” viewers haven’t seen the last of Kelli Giddish as NYPD Detective Amanda Rollins!
The character, played by actress Kelli Giddish, will return for a cameo appearance in the season finale of the long-running drama. Giddish stepped down from the role midway through the season last December after announcing the decision in August of the same year.

Giddish is set to return as a cameo star during the season 24 finale of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and the penultimate episode of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” season three. During his final appearance on “SVU,” his character walked down the aisle with Peter Scanavino’s ADA Sonny Carisi Jr.
Rollins has also revealed that he has found a new career path and will be moving to New York to teach at Fordham University. However, upon returning, her former co-workers will find out she is pregnant.

Fans will remember that when he was ready to exit the legal series, Deadline reported Giddish had taken to social media to write:
“Playing with Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life. I have been very fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the past 12 years. There is no other character on TV like Rollins. He’s grown up and changed, and so have I.”
The 43-year-old star later reflected on joining the show in her late 20s and spending “so many” “adult years with Rollins in my life.” According to The Blast, the news hit his fans hard, and they took to Twitter to express their sadness over his absence.
One viewer tweeted that it was “so disappointing to hear this,” explaining that it wouldn’t have been the same without him and that they “really like the direction that Rollins and Carisi are showing.”
Another fan asked other viewers to “be prepared for a moment and consider” how much this character comes from a “‘newcomer’ who came from GA…through gambling & insanity with her sister” to welcome “two beautiful daughters & her Love with Dominick . “
A third Twitter expressed hope that the contestants would provide “the best ending for a character ever!” because Rollins “deserves it.” A fourth netizen went so far as to tag Giddish to praise her for being “one of the baddest female cops on the show.”
The University of Evansville alum joins the “Law & Order” family as a main cast member during the 13th season after a previous appearance as a victim in an episode of the eighth season in 2007.

US magazine details that the stage actress played various roles in several other high-profile Hollywood projects, including Di Henry on the beloved soap opera “All My Children” from 2005 to 2007, before taking on Rollins.
During the run of “Law & Order,” the actress appeared to be bonding with her co-star Mariska Hargitay, who has played Olivia Benson since the first season of SVU. Their love for each other was evident in a photo she shared earlier last year via Instagram, along with the caption, “I love playing cops with this one.”
Hargitay, who posted plenty of heart emojis in the comments section in response, also praised the vixen’s “All Love is Lost” video anytime. During a 2018 panel discussion at the festival, the Emmy Award-winning actor said:
“Kelli is one of the strongest people I know; I would say, in a lot of ways, like, way cooler than me.”
As for romance, Giddish has been married twice, first saying “I do” to Lawrence Faulborn in June 2015 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The couple welcomed their first child, son Ludo, in October 2015.
She then welcomed their second child together – another son named Charlie – in November 2018. Unfortunately, the union fell apart, and the couple divorced the same year. The “Without a Trace” guest star found love again in the arms of Beau Richards, announcing that she had “met and married my love, my man, my lover” in a November 2021 Instagram post.
The photo accompanying the post features “Past Life” kissing the groom and has received over 50k likes.
