In his latest lawsuit, the famous vocalist doubles down on his previous claims that Blackstock crossed the line as his manager at the time — a fight that cost him more than $2 million in back pay just three months ago.

Now, Clarkson wants the rest of her ex-lover’s profits for allegedly making improper business deals on her behalf. He accused him and Starstruck Entertainment — his father Narvel Balckstock’s management company — of violating California labor laws.

He asserted that they violated the Talent Agency Act by acting as an “unlicensed talent agency” when booking shows and securing offers for them as far back as 2007. His argument follows Page Six read:

“Based on Starstruck’s wrongful acts and conduct … all agreements between the parties should be declared void and unenforceable … and all monies previously paid by the cross-complainant to Starstruck should be forfeited to Starstruck, forthwith.”

Clarkson may have a good chance of winning because his lawsuit against Blackstock previously earned him a large payout. Her ex-lover could lose this new case because only talent agents are supposed to sign business agreements for their clients under California labor law, with a few exceptions.

With this in mind, the “Since U Been Gone” singer wants her ex-husband and her former talent agency to take all the profits they received. These reimbursements include “commissions, fees, profits, advances, production fees or other monies.”

It’s possible that Blackstock triggered Clarkson’s second complaint, as he is now appealing the $2 million-plus verdict from the last case.

If his ex-wife were to win again, she would have a weaker argument because the new lawsuit included an additional ten years of unfair business deals from her initial complaint.

Naturally, Clarkson’s latest filing hit a sore spot in the Blackstock camp, with his lawyers coming to his defense. Bryan Freedman didn’t mince his words as he slammed the sensational singer in a heated statement.

Legal representatives described his actions as distasteful, stating that he had gone too far by collecting Blackstock’s earnings. Freedman argued that the money was spent on family needs, saying:

“It is morally, ethically and legally wrong to try to get money back from your ex-husband who not only helped her as her manager but who used that income for their children and Kelly and Brandon’s lifestyle during the marriage.”

Despite Blackstock and her attorney’s belief, it’s important to note that Clarkson filed the complaint only after Starstruck Entertainment sued her in 2020 for $1.4 million in unpaid commissions for her work on “The Voice” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

As noted, Clarkson’s second complaint comes three months after she won back millions from her ex-husband. Last December, the California labor commissioner presiding over the former couple’s case ruled in favor of Blackstock’s mismanagement.

While serving as the “Stronger” hitmaker’s manager, Blackstock arranged several lucrative business deals on his behalf and allegedly received benefits in excess of his standard payday. The arbitrator agreed that he crossed the line with the lavish payment and ordered him to repay Clarkson.

Blackstock’s bill was no small sum, amounting to $2,641,374. This amount includes the $1.98 million commission she received for Clarkson’s appearance on “The Voice” and the $93.30 she earned for her hosting gig at the Billboard Music Awards.

Clarkson and Blackstock have been embroiled in several legal disputes since their split in 2020, with their divorce finalized in 2022. At the time, the Grammy winner was ordered to give her ex a one-time payment of $1,326,161.

As part of the settlement, the singer will also make monthly payments of $45,601 to Blackstock in child support payments for their two children — River Rose and Remington Alexander.

The former couple agreed to joint custody of their children, but their primary residence was with their mother.

Additionally, the settlement states that Clarkson and Blackstock agreed to vaccinate their children against COVID-19. This decision resulted from the children’s need to go back and forth to see their father out of the country.
