Kelly Ripa has shared her thoughts on the idea of renewing her vows — a sentiment shared by her longtime husband, Mark Consuelos.
The couple, who have been married for over two decades, revealed that they do not intend to renew their vows as it would lead to them filing for divorce soon. The revelation was made during the latest episode of “Live!” who was left by Ryan Seacrest after six seasons of co-hosting with Ripa.
Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos Not Interested In Marriage Anymore
“Alive! with Kelly and Ryan” officially changed to “Live! with Kelly and Mark” when Consuelos took over permanently as the new co-host of the syndicated morning talk show nearly two months ago. And while viewers were sad to see Ryan Seacrest go, they can admit that Ripa and her men had their share of incitement.
One such compliment is the lovebirds sharing some insights from their long-standing union, and for Thursday’s episode, they’re even more candid about their decision to renew their vows. The conversation started after the mother of three hailed one of the show’s producers, David, as “their own Martha Stewart” and asked if she would be willing to bake a cake if she and Consuelos wanted to repeat their vows.

However, when David agreed, and executive producer Michael Gelman asked if the pair would continue, the 52-year-old blonde quickly stated, “No. Well, we can call it that [the cake] cake kiss of death It will come with divorce papers because we are very superstitious about renewal of vows.”
She further explained that she considered the vow renewal “before the divorce,” adding, “It’s like, ‘We’re not compatible… I know what we should do!'” Her husband quickly agreed with her sentiment, claiming that the couple’s decision to remarry usually comes after the husband “messed up” in the marriage.
“And I’m not talking about the ‘leave the toilet seat’ mess. I’m talking about screwing up!” the 52-year-old actor energetically stated.
Consuelos and Ripa’s love story has been going on since February 1995, when they met on the set of the movie “All My Children.” Instead of playing lovebirds on screen — Hayley and Mateo, their love grew off screen, and they eloped in Las Vegas on May 1, 1996.
By June 1997, they had become first-time parents, welcoming their son, Michael Joseph Consuelos. Then in June 2001, they welcomed their second child and their first daughter, Lola Consuelos, whose name was inspired by Barry Manilow’s song, “Copacabana.”
As it turns out, the 1985 track was playing in Ripa’s cab, and her husband was taken to the hospital. When they heard Manilow sing, “Her name is Lola,” they decided that “Lola” would be their baby girl’s name.
They became parents for the third time with the arrival of their second son, Joaquin Antonio Consuelos, in February 2003. Two years later, the couple became business partners, founding a production company called Milojo in honor of their children.

Unlike others whose relationships fall apart after going into business together, Ripa and Consuelos continue to grow in their love for each other, with the latter radiating, as quoted by InStyle:
“It’s funny; we talked about it last night with our kids. You know, we’ve been working together since ’94, so almost 21 years in a close capacity, and I think at the end of the day, we really understand each other.”
Viewers Slam Power Couple For ‘Too Much PDA’
The Blast reports that the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival winner and her husband came under fire after they filled in on the PDA on “Live!” in April.
Taking to Twitter to complain, one asked why Consuelos kept touching his wife during the show’s second episode, claiming he did it “more times in TEN minutes than Ryan does in a week!”
Another critic tweeted that the “Riverdale” actress wasn’t acting like her authentic self, writing, “Like you two. Being on the show together seems a little awkward. It’s like Kelly has Mark henpecked, and she can’t really express herself.” And Mark was too soft on Kelly.”
“Less 27-year-old married couple – MORE co-workers/morning talk show hosts. Please stick to hot topics and pop culture,” lamented a third disgruntled viewer.
Despite the backlash, Consuelos has repeatedly expressed his gratitude that he was chosen to replace Seacrest on the morning show, stating: This show today really feels like home. I always felt comfortable with Kelly, but [working] together this morning felt so right.”
