Kelly Rowland’s Biggest Interview Mistake Involves Beyoncé & Jay-Z

When it comes to celebrity interviews, some moments make history, and then some make you tear up and Kelly Rowland knows a thing or two about both experiences.

The former Destiny’s Child member recently recalled being in the spotlight for a disturbing revelation involving her close friend and music industry power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Kelly Rowland Reveals Biggest Interview Regret

During a candid conversation with longtime friend and collaborator Billy Mann on his podcast, titled “Yeah, IF*cked That Up,” the actor was surprised when asked about his biggest mistake.

Surprised by the question, the 42-year-old admitted no one had ever asked him that question as he looked back on his journey from Destiny’s Child to a solo career, opening up about the challenges he faced.

While some of those struggles can be considered part of the pains necessary to grow in the industry, one particular mistake he made as an adult stands out. As the “Can’t Nobody” singer chatted with the host, she was asked about the biggest mistake she’s ever made in an interview. The star replied:

“Oh my god. When I made a mistake and told the gender of Bey’s baby when she was pregnant with Blue. That was the worst moment. Worst moment ever.”

The incident happened in 2011 and caused quite a stir as Beyoncé had managed to keep her pregnancy a secret until her performance at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

There was a huge commotion at the Cosmopolitan Awards in London, just two months after the “Love on Top” singer’s pregnancy announcement. Caught up during a red carpet interview, Rowland was asked about her plans for a baby shower gift, and she replied, “I don’t know…I think her dad would give her everything, all I can give her is love.”

The “Freddy vs. Jason” actress expressed her happiness for the couple, acknowledging the happiness they experienced in that precious moment. She stated, “I don’t know what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at her baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She’s not going to be spoiled, but she’s going to be well taken care of.”

Looking back on the incident, Rowland openly admits that her slip in using the pronoun “he” during the interview was unintentional. It wasn’t until the story began to spread that he realized his mistake.

Expressing her surprise, the “Dilemma” artist recalled her reaction: “I was like, ‘What are they talking about? I didn’t say… Oh my God!’ It’s bad because it’s nobody’s business.”

Although he slipped, their deep friendship remained intact and very strong, as they later had many other collaborations.

Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland Partner in Homeless Housing Project

A former member of the group Destiny Child is working with Harris County officials to establish a multimillion-dollar housing unit in the Midtown area for those in need. City officials confirmed last month that the joint effort has created 31 permanent housing units to support homeless individuals in the area.

This assistance includes services such as case managers, peer specialists, service specialists, county record notes and specialized support in areas such as transportation, mental health, and physical and behavioral health.

During a press conference, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced that a “bigger launch” is planned for September. This important event will coincide with the star tour show “Fighting Temptation”.

Rudy Rasmus, local Pastor and executive director of “Bread of Life,” also expressed deep appreciation for the project set to be placed in their organization. He expressed his gratitude, stating, “This will be our fifth housing [development downtown] in Precinct 1 for the past 17 years, and [I’m] just very grateful to continue to help finish [homelessness] in our district.”

He explained that the Knowles-Rowland Project was inspired by the philanthropic spirit of the “Destiny’s Child” trio when they used funds from their hit single “No, No, No” to build a youth center in the city.
