Kendra Wilkinson Recalls Losing Everything After Divorce From Hank Baskett: ‘Had To Do Some Intense Healing’

Kendra Wilkinson is finally ready to share the aftermath of her breakup with Hank Baskett. Five years after the couple divorced, the former Playboy Mansion resident revealed the split triggered her “depression”.

The blonde beauty rose to fame as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends. Although she wasn’t the late magazine founder’s Playboy Playmate, her association with the deceased landed her a role in the reality TV series “The Girls Next Door.”

However, the San Diego native left the rabbit life behind after meeting the former NFL star. The couple tied the knot in 2009, welcoming two children together before splitting in 2018. Reflecting on the end of his long-time relationship, the 38-year-old admits it took a huge toll on his mental health.

Kendra Wilkinson Reveals She Was ‘So Lost’ After Splitting With Hank Baskett

In the latest episode of PodcastOne’s “On Show with Melissa Gorga,” the TV personality revealed her divorce in an emotional interview. According to the mother of two, her breakup with Baskett came at the end of her collaboration with E! Network.

The loss of her longtime partner and the sudden conclusion of the reality TV series “Kendra on Top” was a burden that the performer could not bear. Wilkinson admits this event triggered “depression” and a need for deep healing.

“I went through a divorce and lost everything I knew, which was my TV show. I had a TV show every year until I got divorced,” lamented the blonde beauty, noting that the unexpected development blindsided her.

“Then my divorce happened, and suddenly, now I was left without a marriage, I was left without a presence, I had to move into a small house,” the 38-year-old recalled, adding, “I didn’t understand what was going on, and suddenly, I had to do some intense healing.”

As mentioned above, the San Diego native and former Minnesota Vikings player ended their marriage in 2018, with their divorce being finalized a year later. At the height of their romance, the couple was featured on WE TV’s “Kendra on Top” series from 2012 to 2017.

However, the end of the program resulted in a four-year period in which the model no longer knew who she was without attention. “For many years, I had no fame. I don’t have everything I know for a long time. I don’t know who I am. I was so lost,” Wilkinson admitted.

After thriving as a reality TV star for years, the blonde beauty stated that losing her show made it “impossible to be happy at that point.” When everything looks bleak, and the performer does not know how to pull himself out of the ashes of his career, he finds new hope in his children.

“I don’t know how to be happy. My children are what give me purpose,” said the media personality, crediting his son Hank IV and daughter Alijah Mary as the ones who make his heart beat faster.

Thanks to her kids and “serious healing” sessions, the former Playboy housemate found her passion in the real estate industry. With her new career path, the mother of two returns to TV in 2021 with her series, “Kendra Sells Hollywood.”

A month before revealing the emotional outcome of her divorce from Baskett, the “Dancing with the Stars” contestant praised her ex as a great father. Alluding to their amicable co-parenting relationship, the San Diego native declared her undying adoration for the former athlete.

“I will forever love my ex-husband. He’s the greatest father to my children, and that’s all I ask for,” the mother of two claims, noting that what matters is the relationship they share.

“That in itself is very good. It’s pretty good. If then things happen, then they happen. I will always love him, and I always did. Love doesn’t just go away,” Wilkinson continued, as if implying that Baskett will forever have a soft spot in her heart despite their differences.

The “Marriage Bootcamp: Family Edition” alum admits that she didn’t achieve this emotional stability overnight. “I struggled for many years badly. I was in a terrible dark cave for a very long time,” revealed the 38-year-old. “So life is finally starting to get good again, and I hope I can continue this and keep working.”
