A Kentucky woman has been charged with two counts of murder after she allegedly shot and killed her two children, ages 6 and 9, inside their home on Wednesday.
Deputies who responded to a report of a shooting at the Shepherdsville home of Tiffanie Lucas at about 11 a.m. found her children suffering from gunshot wounds, the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The siblings were rushed to a Louisville hospital, where they later died, according to police.
Lucas, 32, was taken to the Bullitt County jail and charged with two counts of murder.
A neighbor who “felt something was wrong” found the child covered in blood in the bedroom next to the gun on the bed, WLKY reported, citing the arrest report.
Another neighbor told the news channel he was shocked by the news after seeing the children a few days earlier at the bus stop.

“It makes me sick, just thinking about any child getting hurt or possibly losing their life. It’s just devastating,” he told WLKY.
