Kenza Dali Family & Origin: Where Are Her Parents From? Meet Her Mother, Yamina

Kenza Dali is originally from Algeria, where his parents were born but fled when the war broke out. Yamina, Dali’s mother, is a cancer survivor whose story Kenza shared in 2019. Kenza Dali, a French midfielder, was inspired to play football by her cousin. Lyon discovered the midfielder as a 14-year-old and he made his senior squad debut in 2009.

Kenza’s passion for football has taken him from France to England. The veteran, who spent most of his career with PSG, moved to England in 2019 to join West Ham United. The Aston Villa player is not the only North African in the French national squad. Sakina Karchaoui and Amel Majri are the other two players from North Africa in the current France team competing for World Cup gold.

Origin and Parents of Kenza Dali

Kenza Dali has Algerian ancestry according to his father. At the age of 18, the French footballer’s father fled Algeria amid civil conflict. Yamina, his mother, is also of Algerian descent. Kenza’s father could not read or write at the time, but he did his best to ensure the happiness of his family. Dali’s family moved to Sainte-Colombe, a town with a bad reputation, and his family suffered as a result.

Cali, his older brother, died at the age of 21 due to gang-related activities. Yamina, his mother, was diagnosed with cancer two months after her brother died. Kenza said in her interview that there were times she wished the cancer had struck her instead of her mother. No child wants to see their mother in pain, according to the French midfielder, and happily, her sister protects her from everything. Kenza Dali has just revealed her mother’s battle with the disease in 2019. The footballer told The Guardian that she was motivated when Stella Maher, a Breast Cancer Care volunteer and survivor, visited her club West Ham to share her experience.

Dali remembers his mother being optimistic throughout the diagnosis. “I’ll be fine,” he said. This will not kill me.” And Yamina is right. Her parents don’t use social media, and neither does her sister Sabrina. Dali has also never published any Instagram photos of his family.
