Singer Kesha seeks peace after the release of her fifth album Gag Order.

The 36-year-old singer is “happier than ever” preparing for her upcoming domestic tour, which kicks off in October. Although the tour will still be glittering, the “Eat The Acid” singer admits that it’s difficult to balance her famous pop hits and some of her newer, more vulnerable, songs.

The “Only Love Can Save Us Now” singer said that she decided to “bare everything” for her new album and “really bare my soul” in her new song. “It’s a scary act to know that you’re going to produce something for public consumption that’s going to be the most vulnerable version of yourself,” she said in an interview with People magazine. “But I made that commitment to myself, and I think the show will echo what the album did and have moments of extreme joy and celebration, offset by moments of extreme, raw vulnerability.”

While there’s a lot Kesha wants to change for this tour, she admits, “I know my fans are familiar with certain songs, and this is a celebration for all my fans.” Although he says that he really only thinks of himself when he writes his songs, when he “gives[s] it goes,” it “becomes about the fans.

The pop star named some of her hit singles like “Tik Tok” and “Die Young” as songs fans can expect to hear on her tour. “I’m sure those memories are associated with something a little naughty or borderline stupid, and I want to give everyone that moment in the show,” he said. “I have new memories to make not only Gag Orderbut [2020’s] High Street because I never got to fully tour the album. So, there are a lot of new songs that I’m really excited about creating new memories.”

One song he said might be “emotionally difficult” to perform is “Eat The Acid,” which is the second track on Gag Order. He called the song “the catalyst” for the album, revealing that he created it for the album first. He called the song “a very scary, disorienting sound of spiritual awakening.”

“Every time I sing that song, it’s filled with all these feelings of fear, anger and despair. But then it turns to hope and believing in something outside of yourself,” he added. “Every time I sing it, it’s a very intense experience.”
