PrimeTime Emmy Award Nominee Faces Off With Ex In Bitter Custody Battle

While the NAACP Image Award winner’s life may seem like a fairy tale to some, The Blast notes that it is not. The “Here We Go Again” cameo star was embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with her ex, Hartwell, in 2019.
At the time, the former lineman had appealed the court’s refusal to grant him a new trial and its decision to award his ex-wife primary custody along with a $3,250-a-month child support order.
The judge was not sold on any of Hartwell’s arguments, siding with the “Cuttin Da Mustard” star, who was represented by attorney Tanya Mitchell-Graham. In his demand for a new trial over Ella’s custody, the retired NFL player accused the presiding judge of making “several errors” with the decision to award primary custody to his ex-wife.
According to her motion, Pulliam is to blame for missing her scheduled visits because she often takes their daughter out of state, including once to Pennsylvania to show her support for former co-star Bill Cosby during his sexual assault trial.
Hartwell further claimed that her ex denied her visits on numerous other occasions, including eight weeks while she was filming “Celebrity Big Brother.” The one-time Las Vegas Locomotives football player is demanding a new trial, sharing his belief that he deserves at least joint custody. The court has since rejected his plea, upholding Pulliam, the winner.
