Kevin Costner’s divorce drama just got more explosive!
Despite spending many years together as husband and wife, Costner and Christine Baumgartner’s divorce has brought out another side of them. The once-happy duo have been at each other’s throats for nearly two months, and their ongoing drama has led the Hollywood star to accuse his estranged wife of violating the terms of their prenuptial agreement, which they signed in 2004.
Kevin Costner Is Now ‘Home Crazy’ Amidst Christine Baumgartner’s Reluctance To Leave Their Former Home
Since Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, things have gone from bad to worse for her and Costner. Not only has the German artist filed for a restraining order against her estranged husband, but she has come out to accuse him of running up her credit card debt.
According to new court papers obtained by Page Sixthe 68-year-old film director claimed that his estranged partner spent $95,000 of his money on a forensic accountant and lawyer “without prior notice” to him.

In addition to using his money to finance their divorce without her consent, Baumgartner refused to move out of the $145 million home they once shared as a married couple in Carpinteria, California.
Not only did her refusal leave Costner homeless, but it also violated the terms of their 2004 prenuptial agreement, which stated that he had 30 days to vacate the property if they separated and that $1.2 million would be given to him to find a new home.
Additionally, the former model wants details of their prenup published for the world to see, a move the “Bodyguard” actress believes could put her at risk of “irreparable harm” from scammers or thieves. He went on to argue that it might attract “unwanted and embarrassing global media attention.”
Speaking about the impossible situation through his lawyer Laura Wasser, Costner shared that the 49-year-old had refused “multiple requests” to leave the farm “even though Kevin offered to help him financially to move into a new residence.”
Meanwhile, Baumgartner has since revealed that she has no plans to move out of “Kevin’s detached residence unless and until Kevin agrees to various financial demands,” even though she should have enough money to move.
As The Blast reported last month, the “Field of Dreams” actor detailed that he has been supporting the mother of three of his seven children since he filed for divorce.
The 68-year-old also informed the court, through his lawyer, that he had made a “comprehensive temporary alimony and child support proposal, he had agreed and had maintained the financial status quo since the Petition was filed, continuing to pay all of the party’s children’s expenses, and he was negotiating the summer tour schedule for the party’s three teenage children.”

Wasser supported the multihyphenate, stating, “Kevin has acted in good faith and has done everything in his power to make the transition as smooth as possible. But Christine continues to refuse to vacate her separate residence, as she agreed to do in 2004 as a condition of the marriage.
Native Californian Work Schedules Perceived as a Cause of Marriage
Amidst the turmoil, sources revealed that the collapse of Costner and Baumgartner’s union was partly due to hectic work schedules. In the words of an insider, as quoted by The Blast:
“Christine wanted them to spend time with their family in their Santa Barbara home. During the filming, Kevin was not so much. His absence is very difficult for him.”
The Academy Award winner’s time away from her family left Baumgartner feeling “unhappy” because she didn’t want her soon-to-be ex-husband to “involve himself in other projects,” which is her usual style.
Unfortunately, everything was taken out of his hands when the beloved screen god landed a role in “Horizon,” where he has spent most of his time since filming began last year. Addressing the issue, another insider explained:
“Kevin has not been home for a long time due to filming, the popularity of ‘Yellowstone’ and the time required for his other projects. He’s got a request.”
Despite the alleged domestic mismanagement, people close to the “3 Days to Kill” actor have since insisted that Baumgartner’s decision to file for divorce came as a surprise. This would be Costner’s second marriage to end in divorce; he was previously married to his college sweetheart, Cindy Silva, for 16 years.
