The divorce between actor Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner continues to get messy day by day.
Amid allegations that the 68-year-old actor told his three children that their parents were getting divorced during a ten-minute Zoom call, The Blast obtained documents showing Christine claiming that she did not pressure the actor to quit his role in “Yellowstone.”

In new court documents obtained by The Blast, Christine Costner claims that she never forced her husband to quit “Yellowstone.” She wrote, “I have avoided going public about the reasons for our divorce. I have done this to protect our family’s privacy. I am not pressuring Kevin to leave the Yellowstone show.”
She went on to say that Kevin’s public attacks on her were “harmful to our family,” adding, “I believe they intended to pressure me into moving out without a temporary child support agreement.”

At this time, it is not immediately clear why the Academy Award-winning actor decided to leave the show, but the Western drama will end after its fifth season debuts this November. The series began in 2018 and follows the Dutton family as they take control of the largest cattle ranch in the country. Costner played the Dutton patriarch, John Dutton.
Although the “Yellowstone” series is coming to an end, there are several spin-off shows, including “1923,” starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Taylor Sheridan stated that she was “disappointed” by Costner’s decision to leave the show. “I’m disappointed,” Sheridan told the outlet. “It cuts off the closure of his character. It doesn’t change it, but it cuts it.”
He also denied that he had any conflict with the cast of “Dances With Wolves” that would make him reluctant to reprise his role for another season. “I’ve never had a problem with Kevin that he and I can’t work out over the phone,” Sheridan said. “But when lawyers get involved, then people can’t talk to each other and start saying things that aren’t true and try to shift blame based on how the press or the public seems to react.”

“He’s taking a lot of this on the chin and I don’t know that anyone deserves it,” he continued before talking about a possible follow-up series starring Matthew McConaughey.
Sheridan called the Texan native a “natural fit” for the role, adding, “We had a few conversations over the years, and spit out some ideas. Then he started watching Yellowstone and responded. He was like, ‘I want to do that .’ And by ‘that’ he meant diving into the raw world that collided with the modern world. And then I said, ‘Buddy, we can do that.'”

The former couple tied the knot in 2004 and share three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13. The 49-year-old claimed in his legal filing that
“The welfare of the children is always my priority, and I am worried that they will find out about the divorce before Kevin and I can tell them. It was important for me to tell the children personally and together,” Christine claims in the document.
“He ignored my suggestion to do what I felt was right based on my research and my relationship with the kids,” he continued. “Instead, he insists that he has the right to tell them we’re getting divorced ‘first’ and tell them in private ‘without me being present.'”

“After a 24-year relationship, from his hotel room in Las Vegas, Kevin told our three children we were getting divorced over a 10-minute Zoom call without me present,” she wrote. “I’m still confused by his motivation for doing this through a very short Zoom session, especially since he plans to be home five days later. He also could have easily returned from Las Vegas to speak in person.”
On May 2, a representative confirmed to People magazine that the “Field of Dreams” actor and his wife were separating after 18 years together. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation and listed their separation date as April 11.
