The couple’s divorce came shortly after the announcement that “Yellowstone” would end after its fifth season. “Yellowstone” was the series that revived Costner’s acting career and won several accolades for his performance. He has won a Golden Globe award for the role of John Dutton.

There have been several rumors that Costner will not return for the second part of the fifth season due to a clash with the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan. Sources in the production team spoke to New York Post about the reported accident.

They said, “It’s just like any showman and big star — there’s respect, but there’s friction.” Another source, who worked closely with Sheridan previously, claimed that there was a battle of egos, which may have been Sheridan’s fault. They said, “Taylor is the star of the show. He is the most important person in all his plans.”
