On Monday, Christine Baumgartner officially filed for divorce from Kevin Costner. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Baumgartner cited that they had “irreconcilable differences.” The estranged couple were together for about 18 years.
In his document, Baumgartner, 49, asked the court to grant him joint custody of his three children with Costner. They had 15-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 12-year-old Grace during the marriage. However, the designer did not ask for spousal support because he and Costner already had a prenup.
A representative for Costner spoke with him TMZ about filing for divorce. They said, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have occurred, causing Mr. Costner to participate in the dissolution of marriage. We ask that her, Christine and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
On Tuesday, the “Watchman” actor responded to the divorce petition by asking for joint custody. The filing also states, “Spousal support is payable to the petitioner under the terms of the parties’ Prenuptial Agreement.”
