In his words, “I chose to be positive instead of negative and because of that, my relationship with my dad is amazing now! And my dad understands how I feel and how I see things, and now my dad is focused on being a grandparent the best he possibly can.”
Expressing his feelings, he added, “I think there are choices, you always have choices to make. My thing is, I don’t have time to be angry. You know how much time it takes to hold an attitude and a grudge? That’s time and energy! I don’t have that time!”
He went on to conclude well, saying, “I choose to be positive because overall, positivity will always trump negativity.” The famous comedian opened up about the absence of his father in his life when he was growing up.
In his stand-up routine, Hart often talks about how his father battled alcohol and substance abuse while in and out of prison. The star has often stated that even though he didn’t get the chance to enjoy the benefits of having a father, he decided to be good to his children because he “saw firsthand what was absent and because of that, I now know what it means to be present.”
Comedian Hopes World Takes Back From Will Smith
Hart continues to prove that he has a heart of gold and will always support his people regardless of the situation they face. Last month, the father of four made headlines for defending Will Smith after the 2022 Oscar slap saga.
According to The Blast, the “Me Time” actress stated that the media should leave the iconic star alone and let her heal. Hart, during an appearance on “Drink Champs,” declared his unwavering support for the “Focus” actor amid the scandalous slap he gave Chris Rock.

He said, “Dark times deserve a great light, I’m not going to insult my brother, and I’m going to say, Will Smith. Will Smith is a king – he’s not just a legend, he’s not just a GOAT… [he] is the reason why the idea of African Americans attached to global IP is so common.”
The “Soul Plane” star, while still giving an impassioned speech, said that people are allowed to make “mistakes” and that they should be “given time to recover.” He then finally urged the world to get out of the issue and give Smith and Rock room to deal with their own problems.
