Kevin Hart’s world tour schedule has suffered a setback.
The comedian’s scheduled appearance in Egypt was canceled following his alleged remarks about ancient Egyptian kings. Hart’s reference to royalty as Black sparked outrage from the country’s natives who accused the actor of advocating Afrocentrism. The movement focused on promoting the role of African-Americans in the history and creation of western civilization.
Kevin Hart’s Plan To Perform In Cairo, Egypt Gets The Boot
The announcement of the cancellation of Hart’s show in Egypt was made by event management — R Productions, the company behind the comedian’s tour, citing “local logistical issues” for the incident. In their words:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share with you, due to local logistical issues, the cancellation of our Kevin Hart event.”

The event management company added that it is working with the Ticketsmarche team to refund previous attendees “in the shortest possible time.” In case you missed it, Middle Eastern eyes reports that the “Ride Along” actress sparked criticism for taking an “Afrocentric” stance when she reportedly stated:
“We must teach our children the true history of black Africans when they were kings in Egypt and not just the era of slavery reinforced by American education. Do you remember when we were kings?”
Despite what the Afrocentric movement practices, Hart’s critics claim he distorts history and rips Arabs from their claim to the country’s past. A hashtag asking the parties involved to either cancel the 43-year-old’s performance or boycott it later became a viral topic on social media in Egypt last December.
The “Think Like a Man” star seemed unfazed by the controversy, taking to Instagram to post some photos from the recent show. While the first few images show Hart in front of a cheering crowd, the last two pictures show him on the side of the road and in front of a plane. Underneath the photo, he wrote:
“The middle east leg of my Reality Check tour was UNBELIEVABLE…. You guys welcomed me with open arms….I saw and felt so much love from all of you!!!!! I’ve made amazing connections here and I couldn’t be happier… Thanks to all my friends & partners for helping me reach my goals… it’s just to bring us all together by making ? laugh. Laughter can and will bring us all together.”

Comedian Mourns Death of Beloved Father
The Blast notes that the Teen Choice Awards nominee is having a hard time following the death of her father, Henry Whitherspoon. The “Jumanji” star shared the news of the father’s passing on Instagram with several photos highlighting Henry’s time with Kevin and other family members.
“RIP to one of the realest & baddest to ever do it…. dear father Gone but never forgotten,” the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” alum wrote in the caption. “The Secret Life of Pets” voice actor asked Henry to give his wife, Nancy, “a hug for me” because they are doing “good” as parents.
He finished by appreciating his father for everything, adding, “I’m a better father because of you. We will all make you proud.” Hart’s best friend off-screen, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, led other celebrities in offering their condolences, commenting, “Luv u I’m here.”
