Kevin Spacey’s ‘House of Cards’ character teases presidential run in bonkers Tucker Carlson interview

Kevin Spacey used his long-discarded “House of Cards” character to deliver a strange and ominous message on Christmas Eve and tease a fictional presidential run.

The embattled Spacey – who portrays a wily politician who wipes out his enemies by any means necessary – hinted he has pursued the potential of 2024 in a whimsical interview with Tucker Carlson.

“I’ve always believed that nothing should be dismissed in life or in art,” Spacey told Tucker Carlson in his character’s Southern drawl.

“I think we can both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room. So if that means taking on the role of chief executive, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this great country,” he added.

Spacey is reviving his odd tradition of posting a cryptic video on Christmas Eve. His character doesn’t seem to think it’s too late to throw his hat in the ring.

“I think there is time. I’ve never been afraid to show up a little late to the dance,” he continued, later crudely describing running for president as “jumping in a hot tub with regrets.”

Spacey stars in the hit Netflix show as Frank Underwood, a shrewd and cunning Democrat who rises from a sprint majority in the lower house to the presidency by using ruthless tactics that sometimes involve murdering his enemies.

The New Jersey-born actor was later fired from his role in the 6th and final season which aired in 2018 after several allegations of sexual assault against him came to light.

Spacey has denied several allegations against him and over the summer he was acquitted of sexually assaulting four men by a London jury.

During a silly interview with Carlson, the scandal-plagued actress wished the audience a Merry Christmas, but her Yuletides took a white Christmas in a very different direction.

“Actually, I’d like nothing better today than to have a shot, drink whiskey and coke, hit a deer with my car, and wish you all the naughtiest Christmas ever,” he said nonchalantly about his Christmas plans.

He has cut similar eyebrow-raising videos for Christmas Eve between 2018 and 2020.

Carlson, who was fired from Fox News in April, appeared unsure who exactly he was talking to and asked him: “Is this like an episode or is it real?”

“Well, it’s probably a little bit of both,” Spacey replied enigmatically.

“I mean, Tucker, what’s true, what’s false? What is life? What is art? What exactly? What is performance? I like when these things intersect because then it becomes interesting.”

At one point, Spacey put Carlson on the spot, stating that he needed a vice president.

“What role do you want to play? I mean, if I run, I’m going to need a vice president,” Spacey said.

“I’ll sleep on it,” Carlson said without missing a beat. She has faced some conversation about being Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024.

Appearing to stay in character, Spacey teased that he might be a free man if he hypothetically went on the run.

“I have always been independent throughout my life regardless of my party, although at the moment I don’t really know my old party,” he said.

Underwood was a Democrat on the show and hinted that he would turn things around as president.

“We are so close to having a beanbag chair in the Oval Office. We spoil everyone,” he lamented.

“You think you’re a rabbit? it’s fine. But let me tell you something. You definitely won’t see someone walking through my White House with bunny ears and a tail unless it’s Easter,” he added, referring to some of the unique figures who have ventured near the executive mansion.

When asked about how the country got to this point, Spacey replied, “Fear, fear, and then fear again.”

Spacey in his Underwood facade seems displeased with the number of candidates running for president. The Republican presidential primary is set to have its first contest — triggered by Iowa on January 15, 2024.

“I like Vivek, drain Ramaswamy. And Nikki Haley is a tough guy, she definitely learned a thing or two watching me,” Spacey said when asked about the 2024 challenger.

“I think ultimately, we need someone in the White House who is not afraid, like me — not afraid to push our country or reporters in the right direction if that’s the case,” he added, referring to how Underwood pushed a reporter to his death in the DC metro.

Since his departure from Fox News, Carlson has launched shows on X and the Tucker Carlson Network subscription service.
