In legal documents obtained by The Blast, Khloe Kardashian has officially filed to drop the “Kardashian” from her son’s name and have him officially recognized as “Tatum Thompson” in legal terms. “The Kardashians” reality star didn’t pick out a name when her son was born, but now that she’s spent time with him, she feels that “Tatum” suits the little one.

“Name change Petitioners decided not to choose a first name when their son was born,” the filing said. “Now that the Petitioners have had an opportunity to spend time with their son, they have decided on the name Tatum Thompson.”

Due to California law, new parents can choose whether they want to have their father’s last name, their mother’s last name, or a combination of the two. In this case, Khloe decided to use the name of the child’s father, Tristan Thompson, as a joint parent of their two children.

Tatum was born in July 2022. The couple also share a daughter, True Thompson, who is now 5 years old.

“Stop pushing this narrative. It’s tiring,” the mother of two wrote in response to a screenshot from celebrity gossip account Deux Moi that said, “Kim was rooting for Tristan at the Lakers game… what’s going on?”
